'Wheel of Fate' Launches Kickstarter Campaign - Trailer

by Rainier on Sept. 17, 2019 @ 12:11 a.m. PDT

Wheel of Fate is an artificial intelligence-based single-player RPG where each player's destiny is uniquely determined by their choices and spinning the Wheel.

Designed by Mass Effect 2 veteran Miles Holmes, this title is a dynamic turn-based game using A.I. to explore thousands of endless possibilities for a player’s journey during the storyline and actions taken during each spin will affect the outcomes of the next spin.

Some people call it luck; others call it destiny. But on the world of Providence, Fate's presence was felt everywhere. Fate is the central force that combines Creation, Destruction and Change; which brought the universe into existence. That is until the Affliction appeared. Born out of people's disbelief, the Affliction cut off living beings from Fate's influence, turning them Fateless.  The Fateless were defeated in the Zodiac War, but the world was cut off from Fate's influence as the Temple, the Wheel and the Avatar of Fate vanished into thin air.

One thousand years later, Fate, the Zodiac War and the Fateless are nothing but legends, mostly forgotten. But when a lone adventurer reawakens the Wheel of Fate, the legends of old become true. The nearby village of Kismet's Fall becomes the center of the world as all the races of Providence converge on the sleepy backwater. The Fateless are poised to reclaim the world that had evaded their grasp. All the stands between them and victory is the adventurer, also the protector of Kismet's Fall as well as the Avatar of Fate.

Experience the journey of a lone adventurer who reawakens the mythical Wheel of Fate in the world of Providence, which in turn, brings the army of Fateless back from with it. In Wheel of Fate, players are tasked with defending the iconic Kismet’s Falls as the region’s protector from Fateless sieges by implementing the game’s unique Active Response Battle system (ARBs). Using billions of gear combinations, players are given the freedom to customize the region’s buildings, craft weapons, and armor to protect themselves, and explore procedurally-generated dungeons.

Game studio UDX Interactive announced that it has launched a kickstarter campaign for Wheel of Fate, looking to raise $25,000 CAD / $18,967 USD by October 17, 2019.

“The wave of interest and support we received from our fans has been incredibly overwhelming and we’re grateful for everyone’s messages,” said Daniel Vivona, CEO and co-founder of UDX Interactive. “We want everyone to know that regardless of the amount secured, we’re still launching this title we worked so hard on. The funding we raise will only dictate how much more comprehensive this game can be.”

A full list of Kickstarter backer rewards can be found on the page’s “Rewards” section, which range from a copy of the game at launch to merchandised products to a studio visit with the team.
