Just Cause 4 and Wheels of Aurelia Free On Epic Games Store, For the King Next Week

by Rainier on April 16, 2020 @ 2:00 p.m. PDT

For the next week, the Epic Games Store is offering two titles for free: Just Cause 4 and Wheels of Aurelia.

Set in the fictional South American world of Solis, Just Cause 4 takes the series' incredible destruction and physics to a new level with the introduction of tornadoes and other extreme weather events. Just Cause 4 has four distinct biomes: Alpine, Desert, Grasslands and Rainforest. With each biome offering its own individual, fully simulated weather event, players will have a distinct experience as they traverse this diverse world.

Rico Rodriguez returns in Just Cause 4 with his trademark parachute, wingsuit and grapple hook, now fully customizable and with enhanced functionality.

The new Apex engine delivers the most interactive, extreme weather simulations in a video game, complemented by incredible visuals, unparalleled physics and endless creative possibilities.

Once Just Cause 4 and Wheels of Aurelia, the current free games on the Epic Games Store, have run their course, it will be up to For The King, which will be gratis starting April 23 until April 30, 2020.

For the King is a rogue-like RPG adventure which sees players journey into procedurally generated levels to avenge their recently murdered King.

Mixing up a challenging blend of strategy, JRPG combat, and rogue-like elements, For The King features both a single player experience as well as the ability to play cooperatively both online and locally. Taking place in the gorgeous, hexagonal kingdom of Fahrul, players must strategically explore and battle their way through the fairytale, low-poly landscape in a bid to discover and survive, lest they succumb to death.

The once peaceful kingdom of Fahrul is in chaos - the King is dead, murdered by an unknown assailant. With nowhere left to turn and stretched beyond her means, the queen has put out a desperate plea to the citizens of the land to rise up and help stem the tide of impending doom. In For The King, players can choose to create a makeshift party, either splitting up to cover more ground or sticking together for protection. A sound strategy can mean the difference between life and death.

Each play through is made unique with procedural maps, quests, and events. Players must brave the relentless elements, fight the wicked creatures, sail the seas and delve into the dark underworld. Brutal, turn-based combat unfolds using a unique slot system for attacks and special abilities while herbs can be gathered to heal wounds and cure maladies. Safe camps protect from the horror that nightfall brings but players must remember, they do not do this for the riches or fame but for their village and for their realm. For The King!

Key Features:

  • Procedurally Generated Maps - Explore a procedurally generated world, from maps to quests to events,  where every adventure is made unique!
  • Singleplayer and Multiplayer Game Modes - Explore the lands of Fahrul alone, or with friends in local co-op or online multiplayer. Stick together for protection, or split the party to cover more ground!
  • Turn-based Combat System -  Fight and die as a party in fast paced and brutal turn-based combat using a unique slot system for attacks and special abilities.
  • Includes all free updates - Following the success of For The King on PC, the console version of the game will include all the existing expansion packs for the game - including the DUNGEON CRAWL, FROZEN EXPANSE, HILDEBRANDT’S CELLAR, GOLD RUSH AND INTO THE DEEP adventures.
For The King is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam).
