'Pokémon GO' Details Raid Day Details, Raid Battle Updates

by Rainier on June 24, 2021 @ 1:53 p.m. PDT

In Pokémon GO, players around the globe will explore their real-world surroundings to find and catch wild Pokémon hiding in their midst.

Niantic released exciting details about Pokémon GO Fest’s Raid Day on Sunday, July 18, as well as updates coming to Raid Battles in Pokémon GO.

This year, Pokémon GO Fest will feature all Legendary Pokémon discovered in Pokémon GO since launch. Each Legendary Pokémon will be appearing in five-star raids during one of four themed hours on a rotation throughout the second day of Pokémon GO Fest (please reference the blog for exact timing and details).

The list includes:

  • Wind Hour: Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, Latias, Latios, Regigigas, Altered Forme Giratina, Cresselia and Therian Forme Tornadus.
  • Lava Hour: Moltres, Entei, Regirock, Groudon, Heatran, Reshiram, Therian Forme Landorus, and Yveltal.
  • Frost Hour: Articuno, Suicune, Lugia, Regice, Kyogre, Palkia, and Kyurem will be appearing in five-star raids. Plus, Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf.
  • Thunder Hour: Zapdos, Raikou, Registeel, Rayquaza, Dialga, Therian Forme Thundurus, Zekrom, and Xerneas.

All Trainers will be able to participate in this Raid extravaganza, and Pokémon GO Fest 2021 ticket holders will enjoy a few added benefits.

Niantic also announced it is rolling out several updates this summer to make Raid Battles even more epic. In addition to getting an art and UX makeover, Niantic will be implementing Trainer Achievements that Trainers can earn after a Raid.
