Tekken 8 pushes the envelope for fighting games and takes full advantage of the power of the latest generation of consoles

"Fist Meets Fate” in the dramatic new storyline in Tekken 8.

The Tekken series holds the Guinness World Record for being the longest-running video game storyline, with Tekken 8 continuing the tragic saga of the Mishima and Kazama bloodlines and their world-shaking father-and-son grudge matches. This latest saga begins where the previous title left off, with a world mired deep in the devastating war between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama. After suffering what seems to be a defeat from Kazuya, Jin faces his own fate. His mother, Jun Kazama, appears after her absence from the Tekken franchise to try and turn the tide in this blood feud.

Tekken 8 will feature exciting new gameplay focused on “Aggressive” tactics. Retaining Tekken’s unique fighting game identity, the game will provide both players and spectators with the series’ most thrilling experience yet with visceral screen-jarring attacks and environments that are both dynamic and destructible.

As the Tekken 8 release date gets closer, discover Victor Chevalier, a brand-new character from France joining the game’s roster.

Victor Chevalier is a living legend who founded the UN’s independent forces. Descended from a lineage of distinguished knights, with a dream to rescue those in need, he followed the footsteps of his father and enlisted in the French Navy before joining the UN following his will to save more people.

As he felt the world was being on the brink of being taken over by a corporate giant, he founded and trained the Raven Force – armed forces that have the authority to act at their own discretion to counter the corporation's private armed forces.

Armed with an haute couture suit and the latest optical weapons, Victor takes up the mantle as leader of the UN forces, commands of his new forces and readies himself for the fight.

Victor Chevalier is voiced by famous French actor Vincent Cassel. He broke out in the 1995’s Hate, before appearing in movies such as Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen, Mesrine, Eastern Promises, Black Swan and It’s Only the End of the World. Cassel is a long-time TEKKEN player and the character of Victor Chevalier is the first time that he has been involved in creating the voice of a video game character.

“I’ve discovered Tekken in the 1990s and I’ve really started picking it up when Eddy Gordo was introduced. He was doing capoeira and back then, so did I, so I was only playing with him,” said Vincent Cassel. “What I like about Victor Chevalier is the fact that it’s a French character in such an internationally known game. In addition to that he is very sophisticated and promotes, through how he is and how he dresses, a certain idea of the French elegance. This, and the fact that I had been called to voice Victor lead me to be interested in the character.”

Tekken 8 is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) on January 26, 2024.
