The Game Awards 2024 highlights the cultural significance of video games with awards, world premieres, musical performances and other surprises.

The Game Awards brings together game creators, digital influencers, fans and Hollywood for a night of awards, exclusive world premieres across games, television and film, new game announcements and musical performances that celebrate gaming as the most powerful, inspiring and immersive form of entertainment.

From today through December 11th at 6 pm PT, fans will be able to help choose the winners in all categories via authenticated online voting on the official TGA website.  In China, fans can vote for their favorites on a variety of platforms including Bilibili, WeChat, Douyin, Weibo, Huya, HeyBox, and Xiaohongshu.

Once again, The Game Awards is teaming up with Twitch for Twitch Predicts The Game Awards – an extension where participants can assemble a bracket of the titles they anticipate will win big at The Game Awards on December 12. Any co-streamer can install the extension through their Dashboard and have their community vote right away. Viewers can click the extension logo in any eligible stream to cast votes.

The Game Awards will air live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 12, 2024, with awards, world premiere new game announcements, and musical performances by The Game Awards Orchestra, conducted by Lorne Balfe. Tickets are available to purchase on AXS.com.

The Game Awards 2024 announced its first musical guests: three artists behind the season 2 soundtrack for Riot Games and Fortiche Production’s hit animated Netflix series, Arcane, which is based on Riot’s flagship video game League of Legends. The one-night-only musical event will feature Grammy-Award winning duo Twenty One Pilots alongside 19 year-old visionary artist d4vd and artist Royal & the Serpent, who will be accompanied by The Game Awards Orchestra led by award-winning conductor Lorne Balfe. The performances will be a part of The Game Awards 10th anniversary event, streaming live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 12, 2024.

The Arcane season 2 musical event at The Game Awards 2024 will include live performances of three original compositions crafted specifically for pivotal moments in the Emmy-winning series. It will include songs from the Season 2 soundtrack including “The Line” by Twenty One Pilots, “Remember Me” by d4vd, and “Wasteland” by Royal & The Serpent, performed by the artists. This is the second time The Game Awards has featured live performances of music created for Arcane, following a performance at The Game Awards 2021 by 17-time Grammy Award winning musician Sting of “What Could Have Been” from the show’s season 1 soundtrack.

Leading up to the event, Grammy-winning duo Twenty One Pilots today debuted their music video to “The Line,” which is featured in a pivotal moment in the third and final act of the series. The song was written by lead singer Tyler Joseph and was released on Friday, November 22. “The Line” marks the latest single for the superstars, whose music has tallied over 33 billion global streams throughout their career.

“As a fan, when invited to be a part of Arcane, I was inspired to contribute in some way. So many aspects of this story connect with me on a creative level, and when the scene was shared, I immediately knew the lyrical concept and direction I wanted to take when writing ‘The Line,’” said Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots. “Josh and I are thrilled to present this song on stage for the first time during the 2024 Game Awards.”

“As a gamer and a genuine fan of ‘League of Legends,’ it was an amazing experience to collaborate with Riot Games in the making of ‘Remember Me’ – also inspiring me to get better at the game,” said d4vd.

“Getting to be a part of one of the most remarkable and stunning shows I’ve ever seen has been such an honor,” said Royal. “Arcane struck my heart with its profound storyline, innovative art style, and powerhouse soundtrack when it was first released in 2021. Since then I’ve been dreaming of collaborating on the project in any way possible. I am so grateful and excited to get to share this moment with not only the fans of the show, but everyone else who’s dedicated so much of their time and passion into creating such a beautiful body of work.”

Viewers can tune-in to watch the Arcane season 2 musical event at The Game Awards 2024 across more than 30 digital video platforms including Twitch, YouTube, Steam, X (formerly known as Twitter), Facebook, TikTok Live and many more.

The Game Awards also announced that it will return to Fortnite for the second year in a row.

The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite resides on its own Fortnite Island, where Fortnite players around the world can vote in-game and help The Game Awards celebrate the Best Fortnite Island of 2024. For the first time ever, The Game Awards host, creator and executive producer Geoff Keighley will appear in Fortnite as a MetaHuman.

The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite is a hub world that lets players portal to 10 creator made Islands that showcase the potential, creativity and innovation possible in Fortnite. After exploring the nominated islands, players can vote in-game for their favorite, as part of a special fan poll. The winner of the fan poll will be announced during The Game Awards, when it streams globally on Thursday, December 12 from Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

In addition to voting, Fortnite players can venture across The Game Awards map to compete in a target shooting arena, unlocking more powerful weapons between rounds as they level up. The map has leaderboards per round and session, and uses the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN)'s persistence features to retain players' progress across sessions.

Now available, “The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite” can be accessed using the in-game island code :0853-1358-8532

Fan voting on the island, limited to one vote per Epic ID, will be active until Wednesday, December 11 at 6pm PT. The winning island will be announced both on the island and during The Game Awards on Thursday, December 12. The Best Fortnite Island is a 100% fan-based poll and not an official Game Awards category.
