NVIDIA Updates Remix to v1.6 With Path Tracing And DLSS For Minecraft, Brings DLSS 4.5 Support To Phantom Blade Zero

by Rainier on Oct. 28, 2026 @ 6:00 a.m. PDT

NVIDIA updates Minecraft with Path Tracing and DLSS via RTX Remix 1.6, available now for GeForce and RTX Spark, plus Phantom Blade Zero launches with DLSS 4.5 and Path Tracing.

NVIDIA RTX Remix, the modding platform that uses cutting-edge path tracing to completely reimagine classic games, released version 1.6 – our newest update for the platform, giving modders new tools to make even better projects. This update brings RTX Remix to the largest gaming community in the world, Minecraft. Now you can render Minecraft Java Edition v1.21.1 through RTX Remix, transforming worlds with DLSS-accelerated path tracing.

The beta release includes a sample world from Blockworks and a high resolution physically-based rendered materials resource pack from NVIDIA Lightspeed Studios. Players can use these samples to experience the stunning path-traced mod, and creators can use them as a starting point for building their own breathtaking, path-traced worlds. Want to explore Blockworks’ sample world or build your own path-traced environments in Minecraft: Java Edition? Check out this article to learn how to get set up with NVIDIA RTX Remix, and see 4K comparisons shots via this direct download link.

Also, the much-anticipated Phantom Blade Zero launches today, at 7pm PT, with DLSS 4.5, ray tracing, and path tracing. And The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire is available now with DLSS Super Resolution.

Here’s a closer look at the new and updated RTX games:

  • Phantom Blade Zero: S-GAME’s Phantom Blade Zero launches on Oct. 28 at 7pm PT on Steam and the Epic Games Store. You play as Soul, a swordsman framed for murdering his master. Gravely wounded in the heart and left with just sixty-six days to live, he roams the Wulin alone and hunted, determined to unravel a conspiracy that has ensnared the martial world. On GeForce RTX PCs and laptops and RTX Spark devices, you can enhance Phantom Blade Zero with immersive and realistic ray-traced and path-traced lighting, accelerated and enhanced by the complete suite of DLSS 4.5 technologies, including Ray Reconstruction and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. NVIDIA has teamed up with S-GAME Studio and S-GAME Publishing to bring PC-exclusive path tracing enhancements to Phantom Blade Zero, building upon the fidelity of the game’s extensive suite of ray-traced effects. Path tracing offers a unified lighting solution, with greater levels of detail and additional effects, further improving image quality and immersion.

Finally, we have a handful of developer updates from October to share, including expanded software support for NVIDIA RTX Spark :

  • NVIDIA DLSS powers gaming on RTX Spark. RTX Spark benefits from the full suite of DLSS technologies in supported games, including Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, and 3D-Guided Neural Rendering. DLSS 5 with 3D-Guided Neural Rendering is also supported on NVIDIA RTX Spark on launch day, starting with NBA 2K27.
    • The latest NVIDIA app beta also brings a faster Performance Mode (Preset C) for Frame Generation, with minor trade-offs in image quality.
    • The updated NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 plugin for Unreal Engine gives developers powerful tools for delivering sharper images and smoother gameplay.
  • NVIDIA ACE introduces Nemotron 3.5 Bolt E4B for on-device AI characters, our third-generation SLM for gaming. Purpose-built for richer, faster in-game character interactions, the model is post-trained from Gemma 4 E4B. It carries forward Gemma’s strong conversational capabilities while enhancing multi-turn tool use, instruction adherence, input/state grounding, and action-taking, all optimized specifically for on-device deployments across GeForce RTX and RTX Spark.
  • NVIDIA RTX Branch of Unreal Engine 5.8 (NvRTX 5.8) is now available. The official release gives developers an updated foundation for bringing advanced ray tracing and neural graphics to UE 5.8 projects. Building on the preview release, this update focuses on codebase refactoring, stabilization, and compatibility improvements. Developers can access the branch source through GitHub to integrate and customize NVIDIA RTX technologies for their games and applications.
  • NVIDIA Nsight tools are ready for RTX Spark from day one, supporting graphics developer workflows across native Arm64, emulated x64, and Arm64EC applications.
  • A preview of the upcoming MotionBricks update for human-character motion is available now MotionBricks is open-source research for generating character motion in real time. Rather than hand-authoring every transition and wiring it into an increasingly complex animation graph, developers guide motion through target poses. The update includes:
    • New SOMA human-motion models, alongside the existing G1 robot model.
    • Downloadable checkpoints, ONNX exports, and export tools for developers building their own integrations.
    • An interactive reference implementation built with Newton, demonstrating pose-guided human and robot motion.
