With plans to add key long-tail support to the PC title and its millions of players, the label also confirms plans to develop Necesse for additional platforms. Necesse, originally launched in December 2019, has amassed approximately 2.5 million players on Steam.
Necesse invites players to build, quest, explore and conquer via an infinite, procedurally generated world. With single-player and co-op gameplay at your fingertips, Necesse introduces a riveting world where players are tasked with establishing a settlement while exploring deep dungeons, as well as gathering supplies and materials to grow their communities. Mine rare ores, craft magical equipment, fight monsters and recruit specialists as you balance your resources in this unforgettable, adorably vibrant universe.
Fireshine Games’ success trajectory in 2026 includes launching the Early Access co-op shooter Far Far West (with approximately 1.5 million units sold on Steam), and most recently the playful action indie Denshattack!, which boasts an 88 percent Metacritic rating with more than 300,000 players and four Gamescom Award nominations (Best Gameplay, Best Audio, Most Entertaining and Best Switch 2 Game).
Fair Games Founder and CEO Mads Skovgaard remains as managing director of the Aarhus-based studio, and will continue operations with its existing development team following the acquisition.
“This is a defining moment for Fair Games,” said Skovgaard. “Necesse has been looking for a partner for a long time, and Fireshine feels like the perfect fit. Fireshine Games has harnessed success with its unique, strategic approach to game support via its talented team, and with the broad reach and resources that Fireshine Games will bring, we look forward to seeing the increased footprint and support of Necesse for fans around the world for years to come.”
