Subnautica 2 will officially introduce multiplayer co-op, offering a new way to experience the adventure together. Up to four players will be able to explore the ocean’s vast environments together, and collaborate to craft tools, build bases, and face the challenges of a planet teeming with both beauty and danger.

Expanding on what fans loved about the previous games in the series, Subnautica 2 will deepen the experience with new biomes, from towering underwater cliffs to lush coral fields, each filled with unique creatures and hidden mysteries. As players dive deeper, they will uncover the secrets at the heart of the planet.

Unknown Worlds announced that Subnautica 2 has surpassed 2 million copies sold worldwide within 12 hours of its Early Access launch, while continuing to hold the No. 1 position on Steam’s global top sellers charts across multiple countries.

Peak concurrent players across (Steam, Epic Games Store), and Xbox Series X|S exceeded 651,000, with Steam alone reaching a peak of more than 467,000 concurrent players. This marks approximately nine times the all-time peak concurrent player count of the original Subnautica, which launched in 2018.

On Twitch, Subnautica 2 reached more than 413,000 peak concurrent viewers, ranking No. 1 across all categories. YouTube Live reached more than 109,000 peak concurrent viewers, ranking No. 1 in the gaming category.
