'Reaper Actual' Comes To Steam Early Access Later This Week

Reaper Actual is a fast-paced FPS throws players into a relentless, ever-evolving battlefield fueled by dynamic faction warfare.

Reaper Actual fuses the scale and persistence of an MMO with the intensity of tactical FPS combat. Layered with meaningful character progression and a living battlefield, Reaper Actual delivers an experience built for players who demand depth, strategy, and the thrill of nightly war. 

As an elite Reaper on the war-torn island of Marova, survival demands more than just firepower. It is a brutal test of strategy and skill. Build your base, forge alliances, and lead high-risk raids against rival factions in a world where every bullet fired is a tactical gamble. Reaper Actual delivers a shifting battle where players fight each other as well as embedded factions who are constantly at odds. Keep an eye over your shoulder as the next firefight could come from anywhere. Built with the open world persistence and the progression of an online game, Reaper Actual hosts an ever-evolving battlefield where Reapers grow, trade, and form last bonds in warfare.

Hundreds of players compete in a Player Vs. Player vs Environment game where they level their characters while building their Base and doing missions for 5 different NPC Factions on the massive war-torn island of Marova. Players use their Base to venture out and do missions for and against the 5 AI Factions that occupy Marova as they level their characters, weapons and the skills of their Reapers (Tier 1 Operators).

As you move around in Land, Sea and Air vehicles you end up in the islands 5 different biomes on missions that range from high-stakes HVT missions to collecting resources for the game's deep crafting system.


Developer Distinct Possibility Studios announced that Reaper Actual will launch through Steam Early Access on May 29, 2026.

The extra time has given the team more runway to expand QA coverage and ship a broader set of features with the initial release.

Alongside the updated launch date, the studio will be publishing a public-facing development roadmap detailing the features and updates targeted for the months that follow. Among the items in active development are expanded grouping options, an in-game friends list, as well as improvements to art, design and performance. The full roadmap will be revealed on launch day.

“The community deserves our best work when they step into Marova, and the extra time gives us the room to polish the experience and make day one count. It has also given us the opportunity to flesh out our roadmap a bit more so the community can see what we are working on and give feedback on what they’re most excited about” said John Smedley, CEO of Distinct Possibility Studios.

Reaper Actual will be available at three price points.

Foundation Alpha Edition ($19.99) includes one Reaper, Havoc, and a bunker base.

Charon's Pact Edition ($49.99) includes everything in the standard version of Reaper Actual and an additional Reaper, Luna:

  • 2 reapers, Havoc and Luna (with Night Vision Goggles in her loadout)
  • 1 Bunker Base at 1 of 7 locations

Stygian Oath Edition ($74.99) includes everything in the standard version of Reaper Actual and comes with a Warehouse base and all 4 Series 1 Reapers (Havoc, Luna, Thor and Vibora):

  • 4 reapers, Havoc, Luna, Thor and Vibora
  • 1 Bunker Base at 1 of 7 locations
  • 1 Warehouse Base at 1 of 4 locations

All Editions of Reaper Actual include Foundation Alpha access to the game and the world of Marova, the ability to participate in playtests with the developers and other Foundation Alpha players, and other perks that we plan to add through the development of the game.

Key Features:

  • Persistent World — Player victories and defeats reshape the island’s faction control in real-time. A full progression and crafting system lets Reapers build the best gear, all of which stays in the world.
  • Player Bases — Strongholds host crafting, weapon production, and home-turf defense. Both NPC factions and other players can raid your base — gather your allies and seek revenge with a raid of your own.
  • Dynamic Narrative Progression — Hand-crafted story arcs merge with an in-game mission system. One Reaper may receive a mission to capture an enemy leader while others are sent to defend that same leader, creating an interwoven story network unique to every player.
  • Combat and Skills — Precision gunplay, cover systems, and squad coordination are critical for battles. Reapers can also unlock and craft land, sea, and air vehicles to make Marova fully traversable.
  • Player-Driven Economy — Craft, trade, and influence a dynamic in-game economy. Reapers don’t just build guns — they craft gear, including night vision goggles, comms devices, and vehicles that may hold the key to victory.

Reaper Actual will be available on PC (Steam / Epic Game Store)  and reaperactual.com once it's launched. The version available from reaperactual.com will allow players to access an optional Web3 marketplace to buy and sell items they obtain in the game like gun skins, new Reaper skins, bases, and rare items they craft. This Web3 marketplace also allows players to make these same items and sell them to each other. Distinct Possibility Studios has selected the Etherlink blockchain for the Web3 portions of the game.
