'JDM: Japanese Drift Master' Multiplayer Coming To PC Next Week, Consoles In Q3 - Trailer

by Rainier on June 3, 2026 @ 10:53 a.m. PDT

Welcome to Japan, the drift's capital of the world! Fasten your seatbelts, rev up your engines, and drift or race on narrow and winding roads.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master takes the players to an open-world, fictional Japanese prefecture - Guntama. It spans over 250 km in main roads and features the most famous tourist landmarks, as well as legendary car enthusiast spots, mixed together to create one cohesive and stunning world. From the recreation of the Himeji Castle to our Guntama’s own Daikoku parking area, whether you’re a racing fan or just want to drive through Japanese roads - you’ll always find something exciting to do!

You will follow the story of Touma, a Polish driver who dreams of making a name for himself on the local street racing scene. With some help from his Japanese friends, he dives deep into the competition but quickly learns that fierce rivals are standing in his way. Will he manage to reach the top? Drama, action, and even love await the players.

The story in JDM: Japanese Drift Master is told through in-game events and a manga (Japanese comic book), meticulously drawn by our internal art team. Each time the player takes part in an event, pages of the comic book will lead them in or build up the narrative for what’s next to come.

There can’t be a racing game, without beautiful and fast cars! The players will find fully licensed NissanMazdaSubaru cars at their disposal and we’re not done with our announcements yet! Stay tuned for more information in the future.

Each car can be upgraded, both mechanically and visually. From installing a new ECU to adding that over-the-top bōsōzoku exhaust - it’s all in the game! Tuning a car is simple and clear and if the players  really want to push their cars to the limit, the most advanced parts will unlock fine tuning - every single car in the game can be adjusted to be a grip or drift beast or an all ‘rounder if that’s the desired preference.

Developed in Unreal Engine 5,JDM: Japanese Drift Master is a simcade racer, with a solid simulation backbone and arcade layers added on top for a fun and enjoyable experience. Expect each car to behave differently on the street, to feel the weight of it when going into a corner or trying to break at a high speed. Driving physics were very important for us from the beginning and we believe we found a perfect balance between fun and challenge coming from driving a car in real life.

After successful tests on Steam, the multiplayer component for JDM is almost ready to be deployed for all players, scheduled for June 11, 2026.

The multiplayer feature will roll out for PC - Steam first.  Epic Games Store and GOG will receive the update in the following weeks.

Console release is scheduled for Q3 2026.

Scope of the initial multiplayer launch

Players will receive access to the open world sandbox, where they can arrange car meets and cruise around the world together. Additional game modes are planned and are under development - more details coming soon.

The Multiplayer component is designed for 8 player lobbies, with both private and open rooms available for all.

Upcoming features

As per community requests following the tests, we have begun work on implementing some quality of life additions to multiplayer. They include:

  • marking a location on the map screen,

  • command text chat,

  • the ability to visit the tuning and paint shops during a multiplayer sessions,

  • ghost mode.

Each player in the lobby will be colour coded and with the support of an integrated voice chat, as well as the location marking system, it will be easier for all players to gather around specific activities.

Ghost mode is a setting that can be turned on or off by the host when starting a private room - this feature will disable car collisions, making it easier to roam around together and learn how to drift in tandem without annoying your friends.

These features are in active development and we hope to have them ready for the public launch.

American Classics DLC & more content coming to JDM

The second DLC for the game called The American Classics is scheduled to launch on June 25. It introduces six new, non-licensed American Cars to the game. With a 5.99 USD price set, it will launch on all platforms simultaneously.

Alongside the paid DLC, we will also release new JDM cars for free, available to all owners of the game.

More details on specific models soon.

In the upcoming months we are also planning to release the next Side Story Campaign for the game and add new game modes to the multiplayer. We also have a surprise lined up for the community, so please stay tuned.
