As WP's managing editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

10. 'Back 4 Blood' (PS5/PS4/XSX/XOne/PC)

Back 4 Blood is a co-operative FPS designed from the ground-up as an original, premium title and marries the best of what made Left 4 Dead so successful, with new features and state-of-the-art technology.

Cody Medellin: The popularity of the cooperative zombie shooter is still there, even though the last Left 4 Dead game was released more than a decade ago. We've had titles like World War Z try to recapture that same magic with varying results, but it's exciting to see the original team behind Left 4 Dead return for a new game with a different name. Our first look at the latest closed beta shows that the game is well on its way to becoming Left 4 Dead 3 in all but name, and we're hoping the trajectory continues when the title releases.

Tony "OUberLord" Mitera: Some of my fondest multiplayer memories revolved around playing with three friends and making our way through the unpredictable undead hordes of the Left 4 Dead games. The news of a spiritual successor to those games being developed, with some of the original developers behind it no less, was unexpected and entirely welcome news. The original games really nailed the style of asymmetric PvP, and I'm hopeful that Back 4 Blood takes similar care in making its multiplayer something that can be held in high regard.

Rainier Van Autrijve: Almost 15 years after the original Left 4 Dead's zombie thrills, we're finally getting a spiritual follow-up by the original developers, and the game combines the best of the original titles with the asymmetrical multiplayer action that made Evolve special. While not too many details are known about the title yet, Turtle Rock made a few changes, such as iron sights, character traits, and a DOTA2-like card system, but while it may not be Left 4 Dead 3 in name, Back 4 Blood is exactly that — and that's exactly what we wanted.
