Claudio Meira: This is a series that I have always wanted to experience but couldn't do so properly because I was 99% a console player at the time. Baldur's Gate 3 seems like the perfect opportunity, since I get to experience the rich lore of the Dungeons & Dragons franchise while enjoying beautifully crafted worlds and characters.
Tim McDonald: Although Baldur's Gate 3 has been in Early Access since 2020, I have yet to play it. This isn't because I'm not excited about it, but the opposite: I'm excited enough that I want to play the full thing and not tease myself or spoil things. The original Baldur's Gate series is one of the classic CRPG series for a reason, and news of a sequel would normally make me either groan or panic. But Baldur's Gate 3 is being handled by Larian, the studio behind the rather great Divinity games and the absolutely superb Divinity: Original Sin games. If any studio can create a worthy successor to Baldur's Gate 2, it's Larian.
Rhi "StormyDawn" Mitera: Every patch and update to Baldur's Gate 3's early access makes it better than the last — and makes me want the full game even more. Of all the D&D-like RPGs I've played, BG3 is the first to really revel in the potential for chaos, and it never makes it feel like you're being punished for picking the "wrong" or less-nice choices. Plus, Minsc and Boo are back!
Andreas Salmen: As a fan of Divinity 2, I probably would've bought Baldur's Gate 3 without a second thought. That's how highly I regard the work and dedication Larian Studios usually puts into its projects. Given the "Very Positive" ratings on Steam during its Early Access period, I'm almost certain we'll get to enjoy a solid RPG. A lot can happen in eight months, but so far, Baldur's Gate 3 is on track to become one of the must-play RPGs of the year.
