Battlefield 1943 takes players back to WWII. The game offers endless hours of 24 player multiplayer action over three classic and tropic locations; Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.
Last week, an ad on the back cover of German print magazine Games claimed that Battlefield 1943 would be available for download on PSN/XBL on June 25, 2009, but EA informed us that this is a misprint and will not be available at said date, but rather later this summer.

Microsoft revealed that next week Xbox Live, as well as the My Xbox section on Xbox.com and the forums, will be down for 24 hours for scheduled maintenance. Don't get too excited, no new features will be available upon return of the service, this is merely an update to prepare for new features announced at E3 2009, coming later this year.

Atari acquired Cryptic Studios, it revealed that the MMO developer was not only working on Champions Online and Star Trek Online, but also an unannounced title. While there are still no details regarding that third title,
Variety's Chris Morris claims that it might be based on the popular Neverwinter Nights RPG series, originally released in 2002 (Bioware) with a sequel in 2006 (Obsidian). In the past, Atari revealed that it would revive some of its old franchises, which would certainly fit with this rumor.
