Battlefield 1943, using DICE's Frostbite engine, takes players back to WWII. The game offers endless hours of 24 player multiplayer action over three classic and tropic locations; Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.

Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the infamous zombie invasion of Willamette. Unfortunately, the zombie virus was not contained at the conclusion of Dead Rising, spreading unchecked throughout the United States and DR2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike. During his GDC presentation Capcom lead character artist Izmeth Siddeek revealed that the game could handle 6,000 characters on screen, when multiple players are involved, indicating the game will have multiplayer.

Section 8 is a futuristic FPS that brings strategy and tactics to the genre in a game where players can modify the battlefield on the fly. You are part of an elite infantry squad with a penchant for taking on suicide missions that no one else will tackle.

Lips is a music and singing game that includes 30 songs, 2 wireless interactive microphones (with motion sensors that allow you to dance, move or swing to score points), the ability to use and sing your own music or download songs from an online service.

Guitar Hero: Metallica features an Expert+ difficulty setting for people with two kick pedals, pop-up video style tracks, new guitar and bass tones, allowing you to play as a band member in single instrument or band career game modes, a total of 28 Metallica tracks, as well as 21 other artists. GameStop will host midnight launch events for Guitar Hero: Metallica on Sat., March 28, 2009, at approximately 400 of its U.S. stores.

Terminator Salvation: The Videogame, developed by GRIN Studios, is a 3rd person action game with concentrated armed combat against all of the Skynet enemies from the film while encountering new enemies specifically designed for the game.

Eidos and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of DC Comics announce Batman: Arkham Asylum, a 3rd-person action game powered by the Unreal Engine 3, with a dark and gritty setting reminiscent of Bioshock.

Burnout Paradise gives players license to wreak havoc in Paradise City, a seamless racing battleground, with massive traffic-heavy roads to abuse. The PC edition is customized with expanded online features, and community-driven content.

Aion is the ultimate MMORPG with strengthened interaction between players, consisting of 3 realms - the heavens, the devildom and the dragon realm. Players will experience dynamic communications with the world of Aion as they conduct strategic battles.

Ludia has signed a license agreement with CBS Consumer Products to create video games based on the seven-time Emmy award-winning The Amazing Race TV series.

Earlier this month, Square Enix and Eidos agreed to buyout terms, although approval was required by the shareholders, who were to vote at a meeting that was held earlier today. Today, Eidos and Square Enix announced that the merger was approved by the required majority of shareholders. On April 21-22, Eidos and Square Enix will implement various principal events to prepare for the merger to be official on May 6, pending court approval.

Marvelous is already working on the next installment in the Valhalla Knight franchise, and promised to improve upon the previous title with upgraded combat system and an overall enriched gameplay experience.

With World of Warcraft still going strong, we all know Blizzard is working on StarCraft 2, Diablo III and its next-gen MMO, but according to a recent job listing, Blizzard is looking for a Client Software Engineer who will be in charge of developing a new game engine from scratch, for a new, unannounced project that's not related to the aforementioned titles. Currently, the title is running on the World of Warcraft engine, but that is merely for testing purposes.
