While both Microsoft and Epic Games are currently attending the Game Developers Conference 2008, GamePro is speculating that the Windows giant might be looking to acquire the Gears of War/Unreal Tournament developers for aprox $1 billion, mainly out of interest for its Unreal Engine 3. While it is pure speculation at this point, Microsoft is having its briefing Wednesday morning, where it is expected to make several announcements, and Epic on Thursday afternoon. Acquisition? Gears of War 2? New Xbox 360 version? Blu ray ? We'll find out soon?
UPDATE: Not exactly denying it, Epic's Mark Rein
responded saying that if GamePro wants to speculate, they should start at $2 billion, Epic isn't that cheap.

During its briefing at GDC Wizards of the Coast revealed that it plans to bring new iterations of its Magic: The Gathering collectible card franchise to Xbox Live and PC. While no specific details were provided one of the titles is currently under development at Stainless Games, the UK studio known for Carmageddon, while a second title is being prepped over at Mind Control Software, known for SOE's PSP strategy title Field Commander.

Zuxxez's VP Dirk Hassinger
revealed that Two Worlds: The Temptation does not re-used a single 3D object from the original, and that due to its many enhancements (new multiplayer netcode, new gfx & sound engine) The Temptation is not even compatible with the original, thus has to be considered a sequel, not an add-on. Two Worlds 2 just didn't sound right.
