Louisiana Judge Puts Violent Video Games Bill on Ice

Reuters reported that a federal judge has agreed to an appeal made by video game industry groups, thereby prohibiting Louisiana from implementing its new law, which prevents sales of violent games to children under the age of 18. The legislation, which fined violators up to $2,000 and/or one year in prison, was signed into law last week by Governor Kathleen Blanco.

Already rumored several months ago, EA today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Virginia-based Mythic Entertainment, known for Dark Age of Camelot and currently working on Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Upon completion of the acquisition, Mythic Entertainment will become EA Mythic, a wholly-owned studio dedicated to developing MMORPGs.

According to Reuters, IBM has developed a transistor that is capable of reaching 500 gigahertz, which is 100 times faster than the highest-end PC processors being sold today. Instead of shrinking the size of the transistor, IBM altered the silicon by adding the element germanium. Ahoy captain, super-fast computers and wireless networks on the horizon!
