Sam & Max, interactive entertainment's most beloved canine and rabbit combo, hit the road again first quarter 2004 in a long awaited adventure comedy sequel for Windows PC from LucasArts. The follow up to the critically acclaimed 1993 adventure classic Sam & Max Hit the Road® will dispatch the Freelance Police into a wild world of screwy and vaguely quixotic missions. Each one will be jam packed with nerve-jangling action, brain-busting puzzles, and the kind of easygoing banter one might expect from a talking dog and a naked, hyperkinetic bunny.

'Mindware Studios' is preparing to show off their first title, an action/adventure game 'Cold War' at the ECTS later this week and released a few new screens. Cold War will put the player in the role of Chaser Jones, an American reporter caught in a web of intrigue and conspiracy in the Soviet Union during the 80's. The game will emphasize stealth (much like IGI2 and other recent tactical shooters), and will take you to Eastern European historical settings such as the Red Square, Chernobyl and Baikonur.

GameHouse announced today that it has made its 100,000th sale of its downloadable game, Super Collapse, less than 10 months after it was released. “Collapse has been wildly popular —this is our first downloadable game to achieve this mile marker so quickly,” says Garr Godfrey, cofounder of GameHouse, which features a variety of free and downloadable games on its web site. “The demand for Collapse has been so unbelievable that we are considering introductions of similar games,” concludes Godfrey, hinting there soon may be a new offering in the works. Super Collapse, released last November, was named 2001 Game of the Year by RealNetworks. The objective is to collapse blocks before they rise to the top of the screen, with game play accelerating as players progress to new levels. Available for both PC and Mac OS X, the game features bonus levels that are not available on previous versions, in addition to a host of other features.

Premier videogame publisher and developer Sammy Studios unveiled today at the European Computer Trade Show (ECTS) in London the expansion of its development operation to two California locations, Carlsbad and Los Angeles (formerly Sammy Entertainment). This action reinforces Sammy Studios’ strategy of creating new partnerships that foster the development of entertaining products for its worldwide distribution network, including Sammy Europe Limited, headquartered in the U.K.

Interplay Entertainment Corp. announced today that the highly anticipated Icewind Dale II has shipped to retail. Icewind Dale II is the sequel to the award-winning computer role-playing game Icewind Dale and features the BioWare Infinity Engine that was used to develop the award-winning games Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II (developed by BioWare Corp.), and Planescape: Torment (developed by Black Isle Studios).

Simon & Schuster has just released the new demo for Soldiers of Anarchy, Silver Style Entertainment's upcoming post-apocalyptic strategy game.
