Xbox Live surpassed 24 million downloads since the Xbox 360 launch in the US on November 22, 2005. For the full week of E3 over 1.5 million gamers Xbox 360 gamers around the world jumped in to Xbox Live through "E3: Bringing It Home," and received a full week's Gold membership for free.

Gamers interested in trying out EA's upcoming next-gen boxing game Fight Night Round 3 should head on over to Xbox Live Marketplace where a demo is now available for download, allowing you to play as Bernard Hopkins or Roy Jones, Jr. for a partial match. Two new FNR3 trailers are also available for download. The demo existance was revealed earlier today when Xbox.com had a movie on its front page, with the ending announcing the demo would be "available today," which is indeed the case.

Microsoft today announced that more than 400 pieces of downloadable Xbox Live Marketplace content, including free interactive demos for games like FIFA 06, Kameo, King Kong, NBA LIVE 06, NFS Speed Most Wanted, as well as new music videos, will be available to Xbox 360 fans starting November 22nd.

When Microsoft releases the Xbox 2, presumably this year, it plans to include a storefront that will offer "microtransactions." Browseable by game, by genre, and in a number of other ways, the Marketplace will provide a one-stop shop for consumers to acquire episodic content, new game levels, maps, weapons, vehicles, skins and new community-created content.
