Steam Update has a few details on what to expect in the near future. The Counter-Strike: Source map Militia wasa big success and Valve plans to include 2 new player models, one from each side, in the next major Counter-Strike: Source release. As testing wraps up, Valve will release a new DoD: Source map, Kalt. A Day of Defeat: Source retail box available at software retailers around the start of February.

According to the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine, Dutch developer Guerilla is not only working on Killzone for the PS3, but also Killzone Liberation exclusively for the PSP. The new game will not be a first person shooter but be played from isometric view, like Metal Gear Solid, with an emphasis on stealth, having you use the the environment. in KL you play as Templar and tasked with rescuing prisoners behind enemy lines, and will also feature new weapons and unseen Helghast soldiers.

One of Capcom's most popular PSOne RPG series is coming to the PSP. Breath of Fire III will not break any new boundaries as graphically it is nothing special, as are most RPG's anyhow, apart from the PSP's 16:9 display. On the other hand you will be able to play the minigames in multiplayer through the PSP's game sharing function.

Back in December 2005 Capcom had updated the projected release date for Dead Rising to May 2, 2006, but that now once again seems to be changed as it has been pushed back to Summer 2006. Dead Rising follows the harrowing tale of the overzealous freelance photojournalists Frank West, as he struggles to survive an endless stream of zombies. Players will have full reign of a realistic shopping center, utilizing anything they find to fight off the flesh-hungry mob and search for the truth behind the horrendous epidemic.

The latest issue of GameInformer has word that Midway is working on yet another title in the Mortal Kombat franchise. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon will go back to its roots, unlike the RPGish MK: Shaolin Monks, and will feature the usual blood, gore and violence, a choice of 60 fighters, more than 20 fatality moves, Create a Kombatant mode to make your own character (like Soul Calibur 3), multiplayer and Konquest Mode. More details surely to come in the official announcement, but for now MK: Armageddon is scheduled for somewhere in 2006.
