The
Rage reviews seem to be all over the place, making me want to check it out for myself today. A lot of people don't seem to agree with the high scores, which happen to be from "early" reviews. Makes you wonder ... Sanford is slogging through our copy, probably wrap it up tomorrow, and by that time, I'll be able to pitch in as well. In the meantime, check our interview with
id Software president Todd Hollenshead.
Our war in
Stronghold Kingdoms is in its third week, and we seem to be gaining the upper hand. We opened a second front, flanking the enemy from the side, which divided its resources and gave us some momentum. This started because one of our allies had been getting railroaded, but with us declaring war on the same house, it took pressure off them and they've regained most of the ground they had lost.

The new season of
Dexter (starring
Michael C. Hall) starts tonight, as well as the premiere of
Homeland (starring Emmy winner
Claire Danes and
Damian Lewis), so we'll be checking that out later today. I'm really hoping Homeland turns out to be a success. I've been a fan of
Damian Lewis since his role as Major Richard D. Winters in the
Band of Brothers miniseries.

What's the deal with companies all of a sudden adding a "you can't sue us" clause in their user agreements? Pretty soon, no matter what they sell you — whether or not it's functional, hazardous or illegal — they'll add something in the EULA that safeguards them from any harm. Doesn't really sound right to me. You make something, so you're responsible for it. If it craps out on your watch, well, you should have made it functional in the first place. The next thing you know, we'll be buying cars that fall apart and the manufacturer will make us download a patch to get it running again.
Aside from the legal mumbo jumbo, TV season is in full swing and unfortunately, we've picked up a few new series to test run, like 2 Broke Girls, Person of Interest and, of course,
Terra Nova.

We're about to wrap up our New York trip. Currently packing to catch our flight bright & early in the morning.
Yesterday we watched the U.S. Open women's finale and witnessed Serena Williams lose not only the match but her temper. She took out her subpar tennis out on the umpire by arguing a call, which ended up getting her a penalty and costing her the first set. While Samantha Stosur played good, solid tennis, Serena lost it on her own. My advice to Ms. Williams: less attitude, more tennis.
Now if only Kim Clijsters had been there!

The in-laws have landed for the holiday weekend, so I've locked myself away in my man cave. I'll be playing Deus Ex and APB all weekend long. Maybe I'll come out to see if the world's still spinning, but that's very unlikely.
Speaking of Deus Ex, I was just about to get bored with the current setting when things changed, and an entire new environment awaited. The pacing is perfect, if you ask me.
I also got a
Hedone beta invite, so I'll have to check that out ... at least until Blizzard activates my Diablo III beta!
