Various gamers reported an issue with GH II's whammy bar on the guitar controller, which Red Octane recognized, and now the issue apparently has been resolved through an auto-update.

In a somewhat surprising move, it seems that the long time Tony Hawk developer Neversoft may have taken over development of the Guitar Hero franchise. Harmonix, known for the first 2 Guitar Hero titles, but also Karaoke Revolution, is rumored to move its resources to an all-new IP.
Neversoft is recruiting for the 3rd title in the franchise, one of the positions being a PS3 Graphics Engineer, indicating a move from PS2 to Sony's nextgen console.

During a keynote speech at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia XV Conference, Activision CEO Robert Kotick revealed that Guitar Hero will be appearing on every significant new format, with the intention of releasing yearly updates. While the PS2 edition is scheduled for November, rumors have been going around that certain game stores received word that the Xbox 360 version might launch early 2007.
