EA is restructuring its RPG and MMO games development into a new group that includes both Mythic and BioWare. This newly formed team will be led by BioWare's Ray Muzyka, with BioWare's Greg Zeschuk becoming Group Creative Officer and Rob Denton stepping into the General Manager position as Mark Jacobs resigns.

Bungie has rolled out the Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack, making available to everybody three new multiplayer maps (Assembly, Orbital and Sandbox) that were previously part of the Halo Wars Limited Collector's Edition.

In a somewhat surprising move, it seems long time MMO creator
Matt Firor has left the company he co-founded many years ago. Known for Dark Age of Camelot, Mythic was recently bought by Electronic Arts, renamed to EA Mythic, and is currently working on Warhammer Online. While there is no official statement just yet, it is widely believed Matt left to start a new developing company closer to home and shorten his commute time.

An update on the official
Ultima Online website reveals that with the acquisition of Mythic, the UO team will be teaming up with the creative folks behind Dark Age of Camelot and who are currently working on Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Both development teams will work together to forge Britannia’s future and once the plans are finalized, announcements will be made, but in the meantime the in-game fiction cycle is put on hold.

Already rumored several months ago, EA today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Virginia-based Mythic Entertainment, known for Dark Age of Camelot and currently working on Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Upon completion of the acquisition, Mythic Entertainment will become EA Mythic, a wholly-owned studio dedicated to developing MMORPGs.

One of Dark Age of Camelot's biggest complaints was the widely known radar cheat, and it seems Mythic has finally found a solution and bann0red the h4xx0rz. "For the last few months, we've been test driving our program's latest refinements. We didn't want to deliver bannings until we were absolutely sure we had no false positives. Well, we're sure now. So, to about four hundred and fifty people with nothing better to do but cheat at video games: Time for a new game, because you are now banned."

Mythic Entertainment today announced that Steve Perkins has joined the company as Director of Marketing. A seven-year veteran of the computer and videogame industry, Perkins recently served in the same capacity at EA leading the marketing for numerous titles, including the "Battlefield" franchise. Dark Age of Camelot developer and publisher Mythic Entertainment today announced that Jeff Hickman has been named executive producer of "Dark Age of Camelot." In this new role, Hickman will report to Matt Firor, vice president of development, and will manage the overall direction of "Dark Age of Camelot" by being responsible for design decisions and ongoing expansions to the game. Hickman has been with Mythic since 2001.
