Slitherine announced that it is to work closely with the Lordz Game Studio, a mod team turned professional developers, on its first commercial title, a historical strategy game set during the Napoleonic wars. Slitherine will assist in design, development and have signed up worldwide publishing rights for the title.

Earlier this month Activision released 5 all-new Call of Duty 3 multiplayer maps for online, split-screen, and System Link play. Unfortunately the Valor Map Pack (800 Points) wasn't working & pulled shortly thereafter. Treyarch has now fixed whatever issues it had, while at the same time also releasing a patch which remedies key issues regarding Ranked Lobbies and Ranked Matches that some users have experienced.

Microsoft announced record revenue of $12.54 billion for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2006, a 6% increase compared to last year, driven by Zune, X360 and its server applications. Despite increase in sales (from $1.69 billion to $2.96 billion) for the Entertainment and Devices Division, the Xbox has yet to make a profit as it currently has an operating loss of $289 million, slightly higher than last year ($286 million). With 10.4 million consoles sold Microsoft Games Division expects to turn a profit fiscal 2008 (second half of 2007).

SCEE announced that the PS3 will launch in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Australasia on 23rd March 2007 at a price of EURO 599. Initially only the 60GB model will be available, and the 20GB model to follow later in the year dependent on demand. One million units will be made available during the initial launch period.

Nintendo's Q1 lineup is filled with new games that expand the breadth and depth of the Wii library and build on the kind of fun that has made Wii such a smash hit.
