EA just released 9 new screens from their next title in the SimCity franchise. EA also notified us that they will be hosting a chat event on Thursday, November 21st at 3PM (PST) with SimCity 4 Producer, Sean Decker where he will answer all of your questions about the Region Play feature in SimCity 4. Build mansions on mountainsides, cross canyons with bridges and raise skyscrapers downtown. The impact of your touch will be immediate but not entirely predictable. official site for SimCity let us know that Maxis is moving the launch of SimCity 4 and The Sims for the PS2 to January 2003. Here is the scoop:

Unlike earlier games in the series, SimCity 4 cities do not live in isolation from the world, they are part of an entire region. Each city a player now creates will become part of an ever-growing tapestry of municipalities that, once connected by transportation networks, can share and compete for resources. Electronic Arts today announced that the long-awaited 4th generation of the PC game SimCity, SimCity 4, is in development at the company's Walnut Creek-based Maxis studio. Featuring new simulation and graphics engines, new regional game play and the new ability to track the lives of individual Sims as they go about their daily routine, SimCity 4 is the most realistic, powerful and personal SimCity experience ever.
