Bethesda Softworks today announced that it has begun manufacturing The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game of the Year (GotY) edition for the Xbox and expects the title to be in stores early next week. The Morrowind GotY includes the original Morrowind, along with content from the two Morrowind expansions: Tribunal and Bloodmoon. This new product will allow gamers to continue their existing games of Morrowind and experience the new quests and areas offered by the expansions.

EA has released the latest patch for Battlefield 1942. Ubisoft announced that it is has signed an exclusive agreement with Sony Online Entertainment to publish PlanetSide: Core Combat, the first expansion for the popular massively multiplayer online first-person action game, PlanetSide. PlanetSide has already attracted more than 60,000 subscribers worldwide. The expansion will focus on alien technology discovered deep in underground caverns, adding more vehicles, weapons and battlegrounds under the planet Auraxis. Activision, Inc. announced today that Snoop Dogg, the "Dogg Father" of hip-hop, is an unlockable, playable character in the company's upcoming True Crime: Streets of L.A. videogame. When players unlock his character in "Dogg Patrol" mode they can play as Snoop and roll through the streets in a custom convertible, complete with hydraulics, while looking for random crimes to solve and criminals to take down. Activision, Inc. announced today that the company has exercised its option to acquire the remaining 70% of outstanding common stock in Infinity Ward, the developer of Activision's highly anticipated PC game for the holiday season, Call of Duty.

Universal Combat brings the greatest components of war together in a single game. Conceived in late 2001 as Battlecruiser Generations, the fifth in the Battlecruiser series, the game has grown into much more than a massive space simulation. Universal Combat is due to be distributed by Mindscape in the UK in November 2003. Unfortunately due to time constraints and a looming Gold date, plans for the demo have been put on hold.
