Vivendi has sent out their "Tolkien Update Letter" and most notable is the fact that their upcoming RTS game "War of the Ring" is "the game is looking so good that the ship date has been moved from the first quarter of 2004 to this holiday! The team at Liquid Entertainment is doing a phenomenal job of bringing the epic scope of the battles of Middle-earth to life in this real-time strategy game." The letter also reveals a top-secret third gameplay type to accompany the frenetic action with Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli and the aggressive stealth mode with Gollum. Gamers will, for the first time ever, be able to take on the role of the giant Ent Treebeard in The Lord of the Rings: The Treason of Isengard. The thrill of towering over puny Orcs and sending dozens of them to their doom with a single swipe of your tree-trunk-sized hand is too good to miss. Sounds good to me!
