Japanese video game company Nintendo Co Ltd said on Friday it plans early next year to offer a device that allows GameBoy Advance users to play games together without the use of cables. The device will be included free of charge with the purchase of one of two "Pokemon" games, due to be released early next year, for Nintendo's hand-held game machine.

The Austin Game Initiative announced yesterday that official attendance at the first annual Austin Game Conference has surpassed 850 from around the world. "The game industry has a new place to meet and do business," said Christopher Sherman, Executive Director of the Austin Game Conference. "We were always confident the strength of the Conference Program, focused on massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) and Mobile game development, would establish a sound educational foundation, but it is clear that senior executives have come here to do business as well." Piggyback has again joined forces with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. This time piggyback will develop and publish the Jak II: Renegade official strategy guide for PlayStation 2 across Pal territories for simultaneous release with the game. The guide will be published in four separate language SKUs: English, German, French and Spanish.

At the Tokyo Game Show in Japan today, Konami of America Inc., announced that Suikoden IV, the newest installment in the popular role-playing game (RPG) series, will be released in the U.S. for PS2 in Fall 2004. Hailed as one of the greatest RPGs ever made, the series is renowned for its depth of gameplay, immersive storytelling and expansive fantasy world. The Suikoden series first appeared seven years ago on the PlayStation, followed by Suikoden II in 1999. Last year, Konami released the critically acclaimed Suikoden III for PS2.

EA has posted new information on the upcoming Battlefield 1942 v1.5 patch. This patch is primarily a content upgrade which modifies the Japanese and US forces in the Pacific Theater. It also introduces a new map for the Pacific. This patch also includes a fix for the CD-Swapping issue introduced with 1.45. No release date is mentioned though. Read more for a detailed list ...
