Take Two released its Q2 2009 results revealing that net revenue for Q2 2009 dropped from last year's $539.8 million (release period of GTA IV) to $229.7 million, driven by GTA IV DLC, MLB 2K9, GTA IV and GTA: Chinatown Wars (NDS), while last year's $98.2 million income dwindled to a $10.1 million net loss. More importantly Take-Two revealed it will be delaying Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption until the second half of fiscal 2010 (Nov. 1, 2009 - Apr. 30, 2010) to allow more development time, while BioShock 2 is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 30 in Europe and Nov. 3, 2009 in North America.

Gore Verbinski has long expressed his interest in doing
the BioShock movie adaptation of 2K's action game. It will begin production in 2010, and John Logan (The Aviator, Star Trek: Nemesis) has written the screenplay, while BioShock creator Ken Levine is consulting. Having recently
turned down a 4th Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Verbinski has hit a snag and
the BioShock film has been put on hold. Universal Pictures has asked the parties to look for an alternate location, as shooting in Los Angeles will have projected costs of $160 million, although it reaffirmed this will not be another
'Halo' movie fiasco.

Gore Verbinski has long expressed his interest in doing
the Bioshock movie, revealed a while back, but apparently he believes so much in the project that the Pirates of the Caribbean director has
turned down Walt Disney Pictures to work on the 4th installment in the series. The film adaptation of 2K's action game will begin production in 2010, and Universal Pictures has tasked John Logan (The Aviator, Star Trek: Nemesis) to write the screenplay, while BioShock creator Ken Levine is consulting.

For a game that is still not officially announced yet, except for a
teaser trailer, there sure is a lot of speculation floating around. Retail outlets
Gamestop and
EBGames have Take Two's action/horror follow-up pegged for an Oct. 5, 2009 release, previous indications are that the sequel will
feature multiplayer, but certainly
no co-op according to 2K's community manager, and according to another spokesman, the game will see a
simultaneous release across all three platforms, unlike the original which saw a PS3 edition release a year later.

While there is no official announcement yet, except for a teaser trailer, a BioShock sequel is no secret. Details on BioShock 2 are slim but today the
first info has trickled through. The sequel will "mostly" be a prequel, and the iconic Big Daddy will feature aesthetic changes, such as a shoulder-mounted wooden cannon, smaller tank on his back, leather outfit instead of the dive gear, and a much more simplified helmet with only three forward-looking sight holes, unlike the multi-directional ones in the original.
UPDATE: Take Two let us know that the forum admin posted old info and concept art, and to disregard the info.
