earlier this year the game was slated for 2010-2011, NCsoft's latest financial conf. call revealed that it won't make it next year, so at the earliest 2011, but as solace to the fans CEO Jaeho Lee revealed that there might be a beta test next year.

ArenaNet and NCsoft Corporation today announced that Guild Wars will be available at retail on April 28, 2005. Players who preorder Guild Wars will be able to use their preorder access codes to start playing the full game on April 27, 2005.
