diaries from four beta testers. They are written by testers TornSoul, Buhallin, Ragnar, and Overkill, each describing their unique experiences in the world of Eve. Acclaim Entertainment today announced that it has signed an agreement with Disney Interactive for the rights to publish video games based on ABC Television's hit drama series, "Alias." Currently in its second season, "Alias" is one of television's most critically acclaimed series. The "Alias" video game is currently being developed by Acclaim's Cheltenham studio and is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2003 across all of the next-generation gaming platforms.

Lionhead Studios is delighted to announce a collaborative project between two of the games industry's most respected veterans, Peter Molyneux and Jeff Minter... Lionhead Studios will work closely with Minter on a new game, "Unity" which is being developed for the Nintendo Gamecube, a new development platform for Lionhead Studios. Day to day development of Unity will take place in Minter's welsh studio, but he will have access to all Lionhead resources including audio, game testing, production and PR.

A brand new release of the
Quake ToolKit is out, bringing it up to version 1.51 already. Just a small difference for a version number, but a world of difference for all you mappers out there. Here's the list of changes:
- Added new q3map2 switches and removed old non-functional ones
- Added the option to save/load compile setup presets/configs
- Added a file info box to compiler window
- Added the option to add custom bot names to arena files
- Fixed -area and -point entry fields
- All compile switches show a function description at the bottom of the window on mouse-over
- Map Compiler GUI's interface reworked

If you have been encoutering problems connecting to certain websites or other places on the internet, don't think its you, there is a valid reason for this slowdown. The American Intelligence is monitoring massive Distributed Denial of Service attacks all over the U.S. tonight starting at around 11:30 PM CST. As many as 5 of the 13 root nameserver have been down, up to 10 with massive packet loss as well as all backbone providers are suffering major packet loss. It seems to be affecting udp port 1434, some kind of worm exploiting mysql server. It may or may not be a DoS attack. Its messing everything up, good thing its the middle of the night.
