Codemasters announced that Operation Flashpoint 2 has been in development for over two years by an internal studio and will be coming to PC and major consoles (wild guess this means PS3 and X360). While details are still limited, OpFlash 2 uses the same Neon Engine as its Colin McRae DIRT racing game and will also feature extensive online capabilities for epic multiplayer battlefield action.

Last month EA revealed plans to make an equity investment in Korea-based online gaming company, Neowiz Corporation, and now the world's biggest publisher plans to go even further and reached an agreement with The9 Ltd. to buy a 19 percent stake in the Chinese online game operator for about $200 million.

Namco's Ace Combat 6 is coming to the Xbox 360, a franchise previously only on PS2 and PSP. Currently scheduled for later this year, AC6 will be larger in scale, cover more terrain than ever before, and feature a slew of Xbox Live multiplayer modes such as Battle Royale, Team Battle, co-op, including achievements and rankings.

Video game industry veterans Ellen Fuog and Jeff Hill have created publishing venture Detn8 Games Ltd., which will focus on games for console and handheld hardware. The company has acquired all-platform licensee status with Nintendo and SCEA and is scheduled to publish its first release in June, 2007.

The Settlers II: The Next Generation is the remake of BlueByt's 2D classic Settlers 2, making the jump to 3D. Ubisoft has released a new patch v11757 patch, addressing some multiplayer issues, fixing various text problems, as well as making sure everything works with The Vikings addon.
