Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) Inc. announced today that EverQuest Online Adventures, its massively-multiplayer online role-playing game exclusively for the PS2, has gone gold. EverQuest Online Adventures gives console gamers access to a vast living game world filled with exciting combat, quests and unparalled character development as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime with people from across the North American continent. EverQuest Online Adventures has a suggested retail price of $49.99 and is scheduled to be available at North American retail stores on February 12.

Simon & Schuster Interactive announced today Crowd Control Productions' (CCP) highly anticipated Massive Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) "Eve Online: The Second Genesis" has marked a milestone as testing begins for the fifth stage of beta. Also announced today EVE ONLINE will use Microsoft DirectX 9.0 and gamers will be able to play across multiple monitors (Rated "T" by the ESRB). During this public beta test, a handful of PlayStation 2 system owners will enjoy one of the largest, most in depth online game experiences ever created. The best part about the public beta test is that it's free! The first phase of public beta testing is scheduled to begin in September, 2002. Nintendo of America Inc. unveiled plans for its online gaming initiative for NINTENDO GAMECUBE, slated to begin this fall. The first announced product is Sega's Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II launching this fall in North America. Sega's game will be playable at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) starting May 22 in Los Angeles.
