Once called Apogee, 3D Realms has been responsible for some of the most classic of games, like Rise of the Triad, Commander Keen, and pioneer of the FPS genre in general with Duke Nukem/Wolfenstein 3D. While Apogee is still working on the Duke Nukem Trilogy, Take Two holds retains the DNF publishing rights, and whether it intends to do anything with that remains unclear.

THQ has picked up 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand in which you play as one of the world's biggest hip-hop stars in an all-out battle to protect 50 Cent's assets and to collect payment from a crooked overlord. While 50 Cent recently claimed "fans like the game" and he wants to do a another sequel, retail numbers are not backing that up. So far the game has sold a mere 56.000, despite scoring higher than the original, which sold 1.1 million copies.
