Play 'Pool Room' Over WAP Or GPRS

Cash-U Mobile Technologies, the power behind Mobile Entertainment, and leading mobile games developer Hailstorm are taking mobile gaming to the next level with the release of their J2ME multiplayer game, The Pool Room. Available to customers of Cash-U's Pecan Gaming platform, The Pool Room enables players to challenge each other to a game of virtual pool over the mobile network.

This addictive game allows enthusiasts and novices alike to play a fun game of Pool against their friends or randomly chosen players. The Pool Room has both single and two-player functionality, allowing players to compete against each other over their WAP or GPRS connection. The Pool Room uses sophisticated physics to create a truly authentic experience over the green baize, enabling players to set up complex plays through the power and direction of the shot.

The game has been developed by Hailstorm to fully utilise the advanced capabilities of the latest Pecan Software Development Kit. In addition to multiplayer functionality it also includes a range of community-building features such as lobbies and chat. At any point during the game, a player can send a message to his opponent - these can be used both as taunts to put the other player off his shot, or sounds of exasperation when a shot has gone wrong. Pecan Gaming empowers operators to increase revenue through the provision of advanced mobile gaming services that encourage the growth of communities by enabling customers to play and chat with thousands of other people on the network.

"Cash-U has always been at the forefront of creating advanced mobile entertainment solutions and The Pool Room amply demonstrates where we are taking mobile gaming" said Amir Peleg, CEO of Cash-U. "The fact that our solutions are deployed globally with several top-tier operators means that we can quickly bring the next generation of mobile gaming to millions of users."

"Developing for Pecan Gaming has been very beneficial," said Jay Abbott, Managing Director of Hailstorm. "Not only has the SDK been extremely easy to develop cutting-edge games for, but Pecan's large user-base means that our games can be written once and rapidly deployed with many carriers around the world."

The Pool Room will be released in Q3 2003 through Cash-U's range of mobile distributors.
