Webzen Showing Off Two New Games During E3

by Rainier on June 2, 2012 @ 6:38 p.m. PDT

Webzen will have a presence at E3 2012 with a $10,000 tournament and a sneak peek at two of its upcoming MMO games, which will hit U.S. shores later this year

The 2012 Continent of the Ninth Seal (C9) Championship Tournament finals will culminate in Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 6, pitting the top two qualifying teams – Gears Executor from North America and Pony Club from Europe – against each other to battle it out for the cash prize.

“We hope online gamers from every corner of the world will experience the excitement and intensity of the C9 PvP competition through the live stream,” said Jihun Lee, head of global publishing, WEBZEN. “We are looking forward to our official return to E3, and couldn’t think of a better place to have the tournament finals and interact with our loyal fans. This also is an opportunity for us to introduce two of our most popular upcoming online games to North America, C9 and Arctic Combat.”

During E3, WEBZEN will unveil a new class for its highly anticipated epic fantasy-based action role-playing game (RPG) C9, the Witchblade, which will be playable for North American gamers for the first time during the event. With precise controls, a variety of skill combos and eye-catching graphics, C9 immerses players in a striking environment as they string together attacks and battle foes to fight off evil forces in Blenheim.

Additionally, WEBZEN will showcase Arctic Combat, a new twitch-heavy online first-person shooter (FPS) featuring realistic warzone effects. Set on harsh frozen tundra amidst the chaos of World War III, Arctic Combat features a variety of modern weapons, tactics and skills designed with the fragger in mind. WEBZEN event attendees will get hands-on time with Arctic Combat and witness a never-before-seen trailer for the game.

WEBZEN’s C9 Tournament and press event will take place between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. PDT, Wednesday, June 6, at Icon Ultra Lounge directly across from the Los Angeles Convention Center’s South Hall. Development team members from both games will be on hand to meet with press and select fans.
