Sonic Mania is a brand new Sonic the hedgehog title that takes the classic Sonic experience and adds new elements and exciting surprises. Players will be able to choose between playing Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles to defeat bosses and enemies. Harness Sonic’s new Drop Dash, Tails’ flight, and Knuckles’ climbing abilities to overcome evil Dr. Eggman and his henchmen. Discover a myriad of never-before-seen hidden paths and secrets!
During its "Gotta Go Fast: The Official Sonic the Hedgehog Panel" at SXSW, SEGA revealed Sonic Mania Plus ($29.99), an updated version of Sonic Mania released last year, now with two new characters (Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel), a new "Encore" mode that adds a new look to familiar locations while challenging new and veteran players alike, Competition mode playable with 4 players, and probably (hopefully) more content to be revealed later on.
The Sonic Mania Plus retail edition will also include a 32-page collector’s artbook, a reversible SEGA Genesis cover, and holographic packaging.
Sonic Mania Plus will be available in stores this Summer for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One for $29.99 USD.

For all gamers who purchased the original digital version of Sonic Mania on console and PC, an Encore DLC pack will be available for sale to access the new features, with more details to come at a later date.
This all-new experience celebrates the best of Classic Sonic and features stunning 60 FPS gameplay and pixel-perfect physics.
Sonic Mania is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC, with the Sonic Mania Plus coming later this summer.
