'Control' (ALL) Ultimate Edition Gets PS5 And Xbox Series X|S Date - Trailer

by Rainier on Dec. 18, 2020 @ 11:47 a.m. PST

Control (formerly known as P7) is a third-person action-adventure game combining Remedy’s trademark gunplay with supernatural abilities.

Control is set in a unique and ever-changing world that juxtaposes our familiar reality with the strange and explainable.

Welcome to the Federal Bureau of Control

After a secretive agency in New York is invaded by an otherworldly threat, players will take on the role of Jesse Faden, the new Director struggling to regain Control. This sandbox-style, gameplay-driven experience built on the proprietary Northlight engine challenges players to master a combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through the deep and mysterious worlds Remedy is known and loved for.

Control Ultimate Edition is packed with the original game and all expansions, including the forthcoming AWE expansion, and will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X on February 2, 2021 (retail launch on March 2, 2021).

Control Ultimate Edition comes to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with a 60fps Performance Mode and 30fps Graphics Mode (with ray-tracing)

The Foundation DLC

In The Foundation, the Astral Plane is colliding with our reality. Jesse Faden, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Control, must travel through the caverns of the Foundation to prevent the Astral Plane from consuming the Oldest House. The missing Head of Operations, Helen Marshall, may hold some answers to the mysteries surrounding this threat. As she travels deeper, Jesse will learn more about Marshall’s disappearance, and about the enigmatic Board.

The Foundation is an all-new level, which can be accessed through the Hotline Chamber in Central Executive. Important note, in order to access The Foundation DLC, players will need to have completed the main game.

Within The Foundation, there’s not only main missions to work through, but multiple side missions to get stuck into as well. On average (because this question tends to come up a lot) players can expect to get around 4-5 hours of all-new gameplay out of The Foundation.

As part of The Foundation, 505 Games and Remedy Entertainment are adding skills to her supernatural arsenal. Take Control of an all-new ability (exclusive to The Foundation) called Shape and an upgrade to the Service Weapon called Fracture, allowing Jesse to transform and shatter the Foundation’s environments.

Jesse will also have access to Shield Rush, an upgrade to the Shield ability that allows Jesse to charge at her enemies, knocking them back during combat. This upgrade will come as part of the free March update, but more on that later!

The Foundation introduces the Hiss Sharpened, a new enemy type which can be found in the caves under the Oldest House. This new Hiss-type is particularly challenging, so get ready to put your skills to the test as they approach you with their melee swings, pickaxe in hand. What’s more, Hiss Sharpened will come at you from different directions, so think about how you can use your abilities to take them down. (Top tip: Look at how you can use Shield Rush and Levitate to your advantage!)

AWE DLC

AWE will take Bureau Director Jesse Faden to the Investigations Sector of the Oldest House, where the Federal Bureau of Control closely examines Altered World Events (AWE) – happenings where paranatural forces breach our world with sometimes grave consequences.

The expansion, which becomes available following the completion of the seventh main mission (“The Face of the Enemy”) in the campaign, will require players enter the Investigations Sector and confront the creature lurking within this long-abandoned part of the Bureau. To reclaim the Investigations Sector from its clutches, Jesse will need to explore the Altered World Events investigated here, including one from the town of Bright Falls where Jesse learns more about the disappearance of the writer Alan Wake.

Award-winning composer Martin Stig Andersen (INSIDE, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus) and BAFTA-nominated composer Petri Alanko (Alan Wake, Quantum Break) are creating the score for supernatural action-adventure game Control.

Combining Andersen’s experience with creating eerie compositions with Alanko’s unique blend of orchestral and electronic arrangements, the renowned duo is joining forces to form an otherworldly soundscape for Control’s mysterious world. Control’s score is being carefully crafted to back an ever-changing world that juxtaposes reality with the unexplainable. Andersen and Alanko’s scores will mirror Control’s dynamic gameplay elements by evolving around the game’s moments of stirring surrealism and fierce action.

Key Features:

  • WORLD WITHIN A LOCATION: Explore diverse environments and shifting architecture in a deep unpredictable world, set within a sprawling New York building.
  • FLEXIBLE AND SUPERNATURAL COMBAT SYSTEM: Define your playstyle by integrating supernatural abilities, upgrades, and modifiable loadouts.
  • REACTIVE ENVIRONMENTS: Harness dynamic environmental destruction for exciting combat possibilities and master complex rituals to alter your surroundings.
  • REALITY MEETS THE UNEXPLAINABLE: Dive into a dark and brutalist-inspired world where daily reality has been corrupted by an otherworldly force.

Currently available on Nintendo Switch (Cloud version), PS4, Xbox One, and PC, Control is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X on February 2, 2021.
