World War Z, Figment And Tormentor x Punisher Free On Epic Games Store, Gone Home And Hob Next Week

by Rainier on March 26, 2020 @ 6:30 p.m. PDT

For the next week, the Epic Games Store is offering three titles for free: World War Z, Watch Dogs and The Stanley Parable.

World War Z

Inspired by Paramount Pictures' blockbuster film, World War Z is a four-player cooperative featuring massive swarms of zombies who rush their living prey.

From Moscow to Jerusalem to New York, the action-packed co-op campaign of Saber’s World War Z unleashes hundreds of fast-moving, bloodthirsty zombies at a time on players in a nail-biting action experience around the world

Use traps, barriers and the environment strategically to slow your undead enemies down, then unleash a storm of firepower from all directions with a wide range of heavy-hitting weapons and explosives.

You’ll face off against hundreds of different types of zekes on screen at a time, rushing as a pack to overwhelm your defenses. Dynamic swarm simulation, a smart intensity director, diverse zombie mechanics, and an advanced gore system all combine for the ultimate zombie shooter experience.

Outlive the dead through each group of survivors’ unique storylines, as they run from and battle massive hordes of zombies powered by Saber’s advanced Swarm Engine. Survive a series of heart-pounding co-operative campaigns across a series of international locations, including Moscow, Jerusalem and New York. The relentless swarms act as real crowds, as zombies trip over obstacles, squeeze through tight spaces, and climb on top of each other to reach players no matter where they try to hide.

Play with friends or on your own with AI teammates to survive against these relentless swarms of undead.

In addition, players on Xbox One and PC can now play together in PvE missions and the wave-based Horde Mode Z (applies only to matchmaking on official game servers). PS4 crossplay is expected to arrive in the future. The latest update also includes new weapon variants with unique perks, balance improvements for PvE and Horde Mode Z, and four premium character skins available as a bundle or with the Season Pass.

Once World War Z, Figment and Tormentor x Punisher, the current free games on the Epic Games Store, have run their course, it will be up to Hob and Gone Home, which will both be gratis starting April 2 until April 9, 2020.

Hob is a vibrant, suspenseful adventure game where, as players delve into the mysteries around them, they discover a planet in peril. Can it be mended, or will the world fall further into chaos?

Hob is set on a beautiful and dangerous unknown world, with buzzing life above and the whirrs of mysterious machinery below. The more players delve into the world’s design, the more they uncover a planet in peril. Players must learn to survive, understand their true purpose through acquiring skills, and ultimately transform the nature of the world itself.

Hob is presented without text or dialogue. Narrative is revealed as players explore and interact with their mysterious planet, and the strange life forms that inhabit it. The third title from developer Runic Games, Hob is being developed for PC and console, featuring smooth controller gameplay, multi-layered puzzles, and striking visuals.
