'Raw Fury' Signs Agreement With dj2 Entertainment To Turn Its Games Into Movies/TV Series

Hollywood-based production company dj2 Entertainment and videogame publisher Raw Fury have announced a first-look arrangement that will give dj2 first opportunity to adapt Raw Fury videogames for film and television.

The dj2/Raw Fury relationship organically intensified a few years ago when the Swedish government invited dj2’s Founder & CEO Dmitri M. Johnson, and Stephan Bugaj, to be panelists at the Crafting Worlds conference in Malmö, Sweden. The dj2 / Raw Fury relationship grew rapidly, resulting in Raw Fury and dj2 entering a three-game deal for the highly anticipated, Moebius-inspired Sable, Parisian taxi murder mystery Night Call, and mind-bending sci-fi character journey Mosaic.

“Entering into a partnership with dj2 feels like a perfect fit for Raw Fury. Their creativity and ability to take the core of each game and transform it into new art forms fit the Raw Fury vision and we are excited to work together and see what we will create,” says Jónas Antonsson, CEO of Raw Fury.

“There’s so much to love about working with the Raw Fury team,” says Johnson, “including the team’s incredible taste for some of the most unique, beautiful, and innovative games today.”

Raw Fury’s diverse library of games such as BAFTA nominee Call of the Sea, Dandara, The Signifier, and ‘Tribeca 2021 Game Award’ winner Norco and more will all fall under the dj2 / Raw Fury first look partnership.

Backed by the financial might of new owner Altor Equity Partners, Raw Fury has ambitious future expansion plans that could change the face of indie game publishing, and in collaboration with dj2, the future of game-to-linear adaptations.

Known for being the go-to team for video game adaptations, dj2 is behind the Sonic The Hedgehog feature film franchise and is in production on a diverse slate of third party adaptations including Netflix’s Tomb Raider anime series, Life Is Strange, Sleeping Dogs, Little Nightmares, Disco Elysium and iconic interactive toy, Teddy Ruxpin

“Having access to Raw Fury’s incredible slate allows dj2 to begin developing adaptations even before a game is released, getting a jump on the market as well as allowing for more synergy between the different media,” says Johnson. “Here in Sweden, Hollywood seemed very far away,” adds Antonsson. “dj2 has made it seem much closer than we ever imagined.”
