Dying Light 2 Stay Human brings to life a unique post-apocalyptic vision of Modern Dark Ages - a brutal, bleak, and unforgiving reality where you are as likely to perish at the hand of a human as you are by the Infected.
In Dying Light 2 Stay Human players are visiting the City—mankind's last stronghold in the fight against the virus.
Developed parkour mechanics enable players to explore the vast open world and use tactical combat. The lost civilization and setting of the modern dark ages requires creative approaches to finding items and crafting gear. Gameplay shifts during a day and night cycle, so players can dare to plunder abandoned lairs of infected at night and discover the dark secrets of those in power by day. Players must choose which side they want to take and write their own story.
Make ambiguous decisions and witness how they impact the world on multiple levels, transform the shape of The City, and ultimately decide its fate.
Techland reveals a sneak peek for Dying Light 2 Stay Human upcoming wave of free content updates.
Over the next couple of months, players can expect a variety of new features including new missions and activities such as the co-op oriented Tower Raid, an answer to the community’s request for dungeon-type raids. New enemy variants, weapon repair, more free outfits as well as knives and polearm weapons are also in development, among other additions. Last but not least: to give players even more destruction tools, Techland will introduce firearms to Dying Light 2 Stay Human, as another creative way of dispatching enemies.
The calendar would not be complete without crossovers and in-game events. This October, Villedor will welcome bloodthirsty Kindred from Vampire: The Masquerade, and will continue the descent into the spooky season with the Halloween event. Next, players can expect a crossover with Ubisoft’s For Honor, and we’ll cap the year off with a winter celebration.
We’re especially glad to see that many of the submissions via the Community Ideas program turned out to be aligned with our approach to evolving the game and turning it into an ever-expanding zombie experience. We appreciate the players’ input and will continue to listen, as we stay committed to a minimum of five years of post-launch support.
More details will be shared during the Discord AMA with Dying Light Franchise Director, Tymon Smektala, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. As always, visit the Pilgrim Outpost for more information on Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

BAFTA-nominated French composer Olivier Derivière (A Plague Tale: Innocence, Streets of Rage 4, Remember Me) scores his most ambitious soundtrack yet in Dying Light 2 Stay Human. Renowned for his distinctive and dynamic soundtracks recognized by Billboard, Classic FM, MTV and The New York Times, Derivière commissioned A-list avant-garde musicians and custom-built instrumentation to bring a unique, emotional soundscape to the game’s deep story and visceral world infected by a viral outbreak.
As composer and music designer for Dying Light 2, Derivière sought to portray the game’s realistic themes of devastation, loss and isolation from a viral outbreak, human civilization’s fight for survival, and hope through unity, by way of a dual textured compositional approach. In his pursuit of unorthodox sounds, Derivière commissioned the London Contemporary Orchestra, one of the world’s leading innovative and respected avant-garde music ensembles, and recorded at Abbey Road Studios with three-time GRAMMY® award-winning score engineer John Kurlander. During their collaborative process, Derivière captured the experimental articulations of the orchestra to enhance the emotional narrative, while his rhythmic electronic synth soundtrack is steered by the strings of a bespoke electric psaltery instrument blended into the score and manipulated to evoke the gritty, lonely landscape and cold, corrupted state of the world’s seemingly hopeless future.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC, followed by Nintendo Switch (Cloud) later in 2023.
