No More Room in Hell 2 is an eight- player co-op horror shooter with consequences.

Powered by Unreal Engine 5, No More Room in Hell 2 takes place at the onset of an immersive, active zombie apocalypse. With a combination of classic zombie enemies in a grounded yet terrifying survival story, this true PvE 8-player co-op game will instill terror into players while offering fresh, tactical gameplay, high-stakes permadeath and intricate combat design. Live together or die alone as players must survive, scavenge, stockpile and extract - then repeat, each time in an ever-changing experience that combines survival horror and rogue-like genres with a terrifying socially emergent experience unfolding over proximity VOIP.

Set within a massive map with three richly detailed regions and multiple start points, each playthrough provides countless surprises and scares. With dozens of iconic horror movie scenes playing out as places of interest, unique objectives and rewards and secrets, players must start out alone in the dark and make their way towards the center of the map in the hope of achieving extraction. Through the perilous journey, they solve puzzles, encounter fellow survivors and slay hordes of the undead, in this endlessly replayable horror experience. During early access, the game will be regularly updated with new content and features, including the launch of an additional map where the story of the outbreak will further be revealed.

Now a commercial release, in the sequel to the 2011 award-winning Source mod, players start isolated in the dark, find their friends and survive - in a dynamic, endlessly replayable zombie apocalypse. With enemies and map locations inspired by classic zombie movies in a grounded yet terrifying survival story, the game will instill terror into players while offering fresh, tactical gameplay, high-stakes permadeath and intricate combat design that rewards cunning, teamwork and grit.

Each match, you’ll go from shaking solo in the darkness with only a beer bottle, to forming a fully stocked co-op squad with assault rifles and explosives. An ever-present threat remains: if a responder dies, all of their progress is lost. This is co-op with consequences.

Torn Banner Studios opens the doors to a second Free Weekend for No More Room in Hell 2, running from April 30 through May 4 on Steam and the Epic Games Store, with the Early Access build discounted by 35% for the duration of the event. Alongside the Free Weekend, the studio has announced that it is partnering with Green Man Gaming to bring the game to consoles this Summer 2026, arriving in tandem with the 1.0 PC release.

The Free Weekend will offer players a look at the first map in the new Survival Mode. In this relentless new format, players must hold the line against swarming hordes to buy time for civilian rescues - where every tactical choice is the difference between life and permadeath. This joins the core Scenario Mode, where Responders venture deep into the outbreak to scavenge gear, tackle critical objectives, and extract vital supplies.

Since its last free weekend one year ago, the team has introduced more difficulty preferences to ease you into the apocalypse, including Casual Difficulty with Objective Completion Respawn, a dedicated Tutorial Gym for newly recruited Responders to practice shooting and melee combat, and Early Individual Extraction if the co-op squad falls below 50%.

Torn Banner has also introduced Character Customisation, meaning players can modify their Responder's appearance and features before exploring two all-new maps. Melee weapons have been reworked for damage, stability impact, speed, and reach, alongside an overall weapon tier upgrade. Most importantly, the threat has evolved: zombies no longer lock onto individuals, instead prioritising sound detection for a more demanding tactical experience.

“It’s been a year since No More Room In Hell 2’s first Free Weekend, and we’ve worked tirelessly to broaden the gates of the apocalypse without sacrificing the grit that defines the franchise,” says Steve Piggott, CEO & Creative Director at Torn Banner Studios. “Whether you’re a returning survivor or a fresh recruit, we can’t wait for fans to face the horde again, from the tactical intensity of our brand-new Survival Mode to all-new weapons, zombies, maps and beyond.”

“We are thrilled to announce the console debut of No More Room In Hell 2 this summer, allowing us to bring the uncompromising, eight-player cooperative horror to an even bigger audience,” says Chris Jones, EVP of Publishing at Green Man Gaming. “Few other survival horror games capture the same level of high-stakes cooperation, and we look forward to seeing how the console community handles the pressure of the apocalypse.”
