The debut game from legendary RPG creator James Ohlen’s new studio is a next-generation, story-driven RPG that marries cinematic storytelling with deep emotional impact featuring broad player agency and modern AAA gameplay. The story is fueled by the consequences of player choices due to the impact of Time Dilation, and how they change the lives of those we love most.
In Exodus, humanity, having fled a dying Earth, has found a new home in a hostile galaxy – here, we are the underdogs fighting for our survival. Players step into the role of The Traveler, humanity’s last hope. Your job is to journey to distant stars on the hunt to steal alien weapons and technology from the most powerful enemy in the universe: the Celestials. There is one catch, however — Time Dilation.
As Travelers on interstellar missions, days for you are decades back home. The sacrifices you make to protect your loved ones create unpredictable consequences that change your world -- reshaping the future for generations to come. Returning home, you confront the consequences of your choices. Returning home, you will face the consequences of their choices, and must determine: how much are they willing to sacrifice?
We have more work-in-progress EXODUS gameplay to share. This time, something more personal: a quieter, in-the-moment conversation with Phaedra, one of your combat companions, while you’re out on a mission together. This is one of many moments between the action where you shape who Jun becomes and how your story unfolds.
At the center is a conversation between Jun and Phaedra, one of your companions, unfolding naturally in real time while out on a mission. Rather than pulling away into a separate dialogue mode, these interactions are fully integrated into gameplay, capturing not just what’s said, but how it lands. The goal is to make every exchange feel immediate, grounded, and reflective of the player’s evolving role in the world.
In this conversation, you'll see:
- Jun Aslan and Phaedra in a corroding Celestial facility, hunting for Remnants
- Phaedra has been infected by a Celestial virus that left her blind
- Her drone feeds her environmental data, and strangely, the virus has given her an unexpected ability to interface with Celestial glyphs
- Dialogue options branch in real time as Phaedra opens up about what she's going through
These moments are work-in-progress gameplay and a small window into what’s coming this summer, when we debut a longer Extended Gameplay Reveal.
Greetings, Travelers!
Whether you've been with us since the first signal, or you're just finding your way into the cluster, we're glad you made it. Your questions, your curiosity, and your feedback are part of what keeps us inspired.
This transmission has a few exciting new discoveries. The big one: your first look at conversation choices in EXODUS— the conversations that shape your journey as Jun Aslan and how your story unfolds. We’re also excited to announce a limited-time offer for those following the expanded universe: pre-order EXODUS: The Helium Sea by June 15th and get a signed bookplate by the author Peter F. Hamilton (while supplies last).
Finally, for those of you looking to bring the EXODUS universe to the tabletop, more copies of our TTRPG books are now available for pre-order.
>> FIRST LOOK: CONVERSATION CHOICES IN EXODUS
Since March, we’ve been dropping work-in-progress gameplay. You’ve seen Jun fighting, exploring, and traversing through various locations in Centauri.
Today, we’re showing you something more personal: a quieter, in-the-moment conversation with Phaedra, one of your combat companions, while you’re out on a mission together.
Dialogue in EXODUS unfolds in different ways. There are high-stakes cinematic moments and pivotal story conversations. And then there are smaller, more intimate exchanges like this one where a companion starts to open up.
This is one of many moments between the action where you shape who Jun becomes for you. You’ll see dialogue play out and options branch in real time. You’ll watch how your words land and get a sense of how relationships develop when you’re both trying to figure it out. From salvager to humanity’s last hope? That transformation happens one conversation at a time. Here’s one of them.
>> WHAT YOU’RE SEEING: JUN AND PHAEDRA
As Jun Aslan, you’re deep in a corroding Celestial facility with Phaedra, hunting for Remnants. She’s been infected by a Celestial virus that left her blind.
But Phaedra’s not completely helpless. Her drone feeds her environmental data like volume, shapes, and mass. And strangely, the virus unlocked something unexpected: she can now interface with Celestial glyphs. It’s a growing power that neither of you fully understands yet.
Phaedra is opening up about what she's going through. How you respond to her vulnerability, her emerging abilities, and the trust she's placing in you—it all impacts where your relationship goes from here. Some responses acknowledge what she’s lost. Others focus on what she’s becoming.
You’re navigating this together and figuring it out as you go. Just like everything else out here.
>> SIGNAL ARCHIVE: GAMEPLAY REVEALS SO FAR

Key Features:
- Experience the Emotional Impact of Time Dilation - Time Dilation escalates the emotional impact of your story-driven choices like never before. Traveling on interstellar missions at the edge of lightspeed, time moves differently — days for you can be years, decades or even centuries for those back home. The world you fight so hard to save moves on without you, changing and evolving while you are left behind. In your absence, friends and family will grow old and change, while you remain the same, forcing you to exist outside of time.
- Explore A Universe of Possibilities - As the Traveler, you navigate the stars on missions to steal alien weapons and technology from the most powerful beings in the universe and humanity’s greatest enemy, the Celestials. These remnants are used to fight a destructive force that threatens the entire galaxy, including your homeworld. Through exploration, you gain an understanding of your universe, the Celestials, and how you are connected to the fate of humanity.
- Lead A Diverse Cast of Companions - As humanity's savior you will lead a diverse set of companions in your fight for humanity, many of whom have their own quest and romance paths. Willing to brave unfathomable danger, and to stare into the abyss at your side, they are ready to join you in facing whatever arises. These are not just brave soldiers – they are genetically engineered savants, punk mech pilots, geniuses cursed with alien viruses and more.
- Own Your Journey – In Exodus, you have the agency to customize your experience, from your character to your progression, combat style and the companions you choose. With each mission you grow more powerful as you progress from a lowly salvager to humanity’s last hope. As you infiltrate dangerous alien strongholds, you’ll need to decide which combat tactics and strategies you’ll use to exploit your enemy’s weakness.
