ACE Team, the studio behind Clash: Artifacts of Chaos and the Zeno Clash series, takes on a new genre with The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, a first-person horror game with online co-op for up to 4 players.

Inspired by Lovecraft’s novella The Mound, this game puts players in the shoes of a squad of conquistadors on an expedition to discover a legendary underground city rumored to hold priceless treasures.

Deep within an eerie and oppressive jungle, players must explore and survive monstrous, otherworldly entities that distort their senses and threaten their sanity… and their lives. Was that sound just an hallucination? Am I losing my mind and attacking my ally, or is there truly a hostile creature lurking in the shadows? As players venture deeper into the jungle, only teamwork will ensure they make it back alive.

Publisher NACON and developer studio ACE Team are pleased to announce a closed beta for The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, running from Friday, June 5th at 8 AM Eastern to Monday, June 8 at 4 AM Eastern.

This closed beta is the perfect opportunity for players to get a sneak peek at the unique, horrific, and cooperative experience of The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu. As a team, they will have to collaborate to complete the various contracts assigned to them and survive unimaginable threats. The monsters and supernatural entities that populate the jungle are one threat, but the loss of sanity is another: as they delve deeper into the jungle, hallucinations will become more numerous and dangerous, causing panic within the group and potentially leading to accidental mission sabotage.

Alongside this closed beta, pre-orders for the PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are now open. To accompany this announcement on the PC side, a special promotion has been set up: the launch price on Steam will be discounted based on the number of wishlists reached at release. With over 400,000 wishlists on Steam already, the community can rally to unlock a bigger discount!
