Set in a monster-ruled otherworldly dungeon, Stupid Never Dies puts you in control of Davy, a timid zombie living at the very bottom of monster society. Defeat enemies, level up, and collect strange items to grow stronger on your quest to bring Julia, a frozen human girl, back to life.

In the game, Davy will be joined by a cast of unique allies who support him as he ventures into another world where he will face off against a distinctive rogues gallery of iconic enemy monsters including werewolves, lizardmen, and skeletons in a fresh take on the Action/RPG genre.

In the aftermath of the Great War, humanity teeters on the brink of extinction and monsters rule the land.

At the bottom rung of this society is Davy, a lowly zombie scraping by in a deserted shopping mall. One day, he discovers the human girl Julia frozen to death in a freezer...and falls in love at first sight. Motivated by his newfound crush, Davy finds his purpose in undeath: "Somehow I'm gonna bring her back to life, and then...I'm gonna ask her out!"

In a freak snack-cident, Davy then steals a meal that grants him strange and powerful new abilities. Spurred into action by the eccentric Dr. Frank, who dreams of restoring humanity, and supported by a cast of shady yet endearing allies, Davy sets out for the monster-filled dungeon with his new powers.

In a new video shared by publisher SEGA and developer GPTRACK50, Director Eiichiro Sasaki shares some details on the core gameplay players can enjoy starting October 21 in Stupid Never Dies.

With countless ways for our favorite zombie underdog Davy to power up, delving into the depths of the underworld to defeat the King of All Monsters (KOM) is fast, furious, and a heck of a lot of fun!

Davy’s main goal: get to the bottom of the underworld as fast as humanly (or is that zombie-ly?) possible and take out KOM before he takes Davy out! But before doing that, the smart thing to do is prepare for battle. In the shopping mall (Davy’s home base), Davy can visit his companions who can equip him with all sorts of upgrades. Ascelino, found at at Ink on the Brain, can modify Davy’s head, arms, and legs through Body Hack with Over Technology collected during runs. By visiting Bessie at Bessie Burger, Davy can trade in monster parts to unlock powerful Zombie Skills that will appear later on as level-up choices. Time is of the essence, here, and zombies are not known for their speed, so travel from store to store on your trusty modified robot vacuum.

Davy starts each dive into KOM’s realm at level 1, but through the power of Blazing Fast Growth, over time, Davy levels up faster and faster with every enemy he defeats. He’ll eventually reach a point where even defeating a single enemy at the start of the run will gain him a massive amount of levels, skyrocketing him from 0-60 in an instant, making it possible for him to descend all the way to the bottom to take out KOM in a single run. That’s the heart of Blazing Fast Growth – the satisfaction of gaining the greatest power in the shortest amount of time!

Demo Update Now Available

Since the launch of the Stupid Never Dies: First Bite demo (PC or PS5), the team has been listening closely to player feedback. A new update is now available that improves enemy targeting during combat, which will also be available in the full game at launch.

Improvements to the demo include:

• Adjusted attacks to make it easier to hit enemies, particularly those on the ground or in the air.
• Added a new “Combat Camera Assist” feature to help keep enemies in view during combat. (Combat Camera Assist can be turned ON/OFF in the Options menu.)

Stupid Never Dies is coming to PS5 and PC (Steam) on October 21, 2026.
