Chris "Atom" DeAngelus: For a platforming star, Mario has managed to amass a fantastic collection of RPGs. From the Squaresoft-produced Super Mario RPG to the excellent Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, each game has been a gem. The Paper Mario games blend an unusual art style with great humor to make a game that is just a joy to play. Even with only minimal information, fans of RPGs or Mario have a lot to be excited for at the mere idea of a new Mario-themed RPG. We can expect much of the same humor and distinctive visual styles; that much is clear from what little Nintendo has shown so far.

Jason Grant: The Paper Mario series has managed to work its way into my heart with its hilarious writing and simple-yet-addictive play mechanics. There's not much we know about this new one yet, but given the series's track record, I'm OK with Nintendo making as many of these games as it wishes. The 3-D capabilities of the system should add some welcome novelty to the proceedings.

Brad Hilderbrand: I've been a sucker for Paper Mario for years, so mostly, this pick is based on sheer love of the franchise. I will readily admit to feeling buyer's remorse over picking up a 3DS at launch, so I'm hoping that this RPG restores a bit of my faith in the system. Nintendo's done a great job in the past of manipulating this decidedly 2-D character in a 3-D space, so now I'm interested to see in what they do with true 3-D.

Erik "NekoIncardine" Ottosen: If you are a fan of Super Mario RPG and haven't yet played the Paper Mario games, something's wrong. Fortunately, Nintendo has learned its lesson after the odd Super Paper Mario and is returning to the turn-based combat of the older entries in this series. It aims to keep the sense of humor and animation that makes Mario so magical. If nothing else, RPG fans have something to look forward to when this game comes out.
