While it wasn't exactly a super secret, EA has yet to officially announce that DICE is working on the next installment in the Battlefield franchise. Not many details have been revealed but DICE dev Johan Andersson
revealed a little while back that the new Frostbite 2 engine will be DirectX11 focused, with DX10 compatibility, but since WinXP is DX9, the aging OS will not be supported.
