Midway Bankruptcy Postponed ... Until Next Month

Midway Games has reached a waiver and forbearance agreement with the holders of its $75 million principal amount of 7.125% Convertible Senior Notes due 2026, extending their right to require Midway to repurchase the notes until Feb. 19, 2009. Midway is currently also in discussions with the holders of its 6% Convertible Senior Notes due 2025 to obtain a similar waiver and forbearance agreement.

While Sierra released Tribes 2 for free in 2004, it closed down the multiplayer servers in Oct. 2008, leaving long time fans out on the cold, until now. TribesNext has put up its own server and issued a patch to remove the CD key and enable multiplayer functionality.

'Forza Motorsport' (X360) Rumor Resurfaces

Last June, research firm Intellisponse revealed that Turn 10 was working on Forza 3, a racing sim with over 400 cars and 100 tracks, new race modes, near limitless customization options, real world damage, online community features, powerful assist mode for new players, new cars and tracks as DLC. While Microsoft declined to comment on rumors, Kaarbo Design, the studio that also worked on the original Forza Motorsport, has now further validated the rumor by revealing it was working on Forza 3 and showed off a few race event sample posters stamped with the new title.

'Gears of War 2' (X360) Getting Major Title Update

Gears of War 2 picks up six months after the events of the original, thrusting players back into humankind's epic battle for survival against a nightmarish force of underground creatures known as the Locust Horde. Epic is working on a major title update for GoW2 that will address bugs, online exploits (invisible shield, melee through some walls, gain infinite Lancer ammo), and new achievements related to DLCs. The online gameplay experience will also be improved by increasing penalties for quitting matches early, adding additional spawn protection against planted grenades and chainsaw attacks, and adding the ability to see the Submission flag carrier destination by using Tac/Com.
