The weekend is over, let the next-gen console wars begin! Nintendo rolled out its Wii on Sunday, selling out allotments in numerous occasions, but the craze was nearly not as bad as Friday when people got mugged, stabbed or even shot at while waiting in line for a PS3. While a mere 400,000 units were shipped to stores across North America, USAToday claims Sony will airlift up to 600,000 more units by the end of the year, though it hasn't announced where and when.

At a 10-year anniversary celebration of the Dead or Alive franchise, organized by Tecmo and Enterbrain in Tokyo, producer Tomonobu Itagaki revealed his Team Ninja is already working on the fifth installment in the series. While no platforms were mentioned, Itagaki stated that he is listening closely to the fan base to hear what they want to see in future titles for the next 10 years, like whether or not to remove the tag team battle feature.

There haven't t really been any Killing Day updates, or an official announcement for that matter, since E3/TGS 2005, and according to PS3Land, there is a very good reason why. Ubisoft UK's Jan Sanghera confirmed that Ubisoft's next-gen shooter Killing Day has been cancelled, is no longer under development, and has been removed from its portfolio.

Valve Bans 10,000 Steam Accounts

It seems that Blizzard isn't the only one who drops the ban hammer, as Valve's new Anti-Cheat technology caught a few people cheating in Counter-Strike: Source and other games this week – over 10,000. VAC detects anyone using cheat software and permanently bans his or her Steam account. Valve expects to see a surge of forum posts laying blame squarely at the feet of "my little brother."
