EA today revealed details on the upcoming Battlefield 2 v1.21 patch. A limited beta test will start end of the week to make sure that the patch is thoroughly tested before it goes out officially. id Software has released a new patch for Raven's FPS Quake 4. This v1.1 beta patch fixes issues and adds gameplay elements throughout both single and multiplayer, including voice chat in multiplayer, a forecemodel option, a one-minute warning for tournament matches, fixed pure server auto-downloading, HTT support, smooth stairjumping and a ton of multiplayer specific fixes requested by the community and discovered during gameplay.

UK's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) received three complaints from viewers about misleading TV ads regarding Activision's Call of Duty 2 and CoD2: Big Red One and has them taken off the air. The complaints were made due to pre-rendered material, made exclusively for the TV ads, that do not represent the end user quality of the product. While Activision claims such practices are standard procedure, ASA does not agree and regulations do require ad material to be accurate representations of the product.
