Origin Systems today announced the development of Ultima X: Odyssey (UXO), a next generation massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG) from the award-winning Origin studio team. Powered by the latest version of the Unreal Engine and based on the renowned Ultima single-player role-playing series, UXO will enable players to create personalized legacies in a massive new online world and will be one of the first of its kind to offer private areas on demand within the game. This year’s most anticipated fighting game, 'Soul Calibur II', will pack an extra punch for PS2 owners when it ships to retailers on August 26. The game’s publisher, Namco Hometek Inc. announced today that the initial shipment of 'Soul Calibur II' for PlayStation 2 will include a special in-pack demo disc featuring playable demos, game trailers and downloadable content for some of Namco’s hottest video game titles.

Encore today announced that it has signed an exclusive North American agreement with UK-based Ascaron Entertainment UK Ltd. to publish Patrician III and Pirate Hunter. Ubi Soft announced its partnership with San Francisco-based label Future Primitive Sound to record exclusive tracks inspired by XIII, Ubi Soft's highly anticipated first-person shooter.
